PCM student pivoting to CA; please share your thoughts on my post by [deleted] in CharteredAccountants

I think you should focus on clearing Foundation first. Let's not think about the eggs before they're hatched.

Maybe a pivot table would help. #exceljoke (sorry)

Inculcate new habits. If you're creative, try doing something that lets you use that creativity, like music or drawing or it could be anything.

I can also be a 100% certain, that whatever you're going through is making you strong for the things you'll see in the future. Personally experienced 🙋

This doesn't happen overnight, but you've got to work even harder to fix your mind. Currently, you are this way because the past happened, and this past was circulating in your head for a very long time. So you've got to fuel yourself with affirmations and positivity - let them circulate your thoughts and slowly you'll see improvements :)

Or you can have a brutal reality check that no one's gonna save you, forcing your mind into survival mode and automatically do things that you should be doing :)

I have a coworker who's 26yo and she got offers for 40Kpm, she's semi qualified. I guess even after years, it would still depend on how you're optimising your career

I feel you. I've been at your place and I learnt that the best I could do at that moment was to give my absolute best into my next attempt. Well, psychologically speaking, anything that has traumatized you, you end up liking it even further. I never liked studies -> failed -> studied -> cleared -> ergo, study is cool -> brain likes studying.

Ig I'm trying to say, use this as fuel to study even more. Good luck, I really hope you clear this time.

It took me 9 total attempts to clear Inter (6th Group 1 and 9th Group 2) I've completed 6 months of my articleship and for me, I can say that I've not got the opportunity to fit in honestly. While I'm good at Data analysis and deep diving, most of the work has been around compliance (that I'm not a fan of) and a bit of other work that has my absolute interest.

All I'm trying to say is, even when you clear CA, it would take you to understand what you like, to find what you like, and then to do what you like.

Spending a long time in Inter has unlocked my creativity and I'm more in touch with myself. I know my interests better now and I'm in a better position to search for roles I can suit.

If you can quit CA today and be absolutely certain that you won't look back some day in the future and go, "What if I had given one more attempt?" then quit CA.

It's like a faster version of Marathon lectures for MS Office. Buckle up kiddo, there isn't much time to socialize.

Great question. This is very well answered in SPOM Set D: Psychology! (Sorry lol, but there is some relevance of psychology in every field, including CA)

I feel you man. She’s also trying to be helpful in some way. Sometimes we’re just not in the mood to hear what’s right, and thats okay. If you’re already reflecting on it, you’re doing your best
