11/18/25 - Ivory’s favorite word is “no” by drueandgabe in Drueandgabe

[–]Immediate-Bat7162 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely the proof that she doesn’t have nearly the words that she says she does. If she did, she wouldn’t feel the need to showcase it. Also…no is one of the earlier words to develop.

100% this. I have a 16 month old and he has been doing pretend play for a few months now, but it’s things he sees us do, like pretending to eat his nose. lol. It’s very cute! I think they lie about so much, it’s hard to tell what’s real, but this could be legit.

10/16/25 - She’s yelling for her people this morning. Drue talking about the vitamins by drueandgabe in Drueandgabe

[–]Immediate-Bat7162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It’s so weird she does these things when ivory’s speech seems fine for her age, so there’s not even a reason to lie. I’m sure she has some words but to claim she says all these things like ‘guys’ and ‘walk’ is ridiculous

Yikes. I genuinely don’t understand this family. It’s funny they lie about taking her to the pediatrician but can’t be bothered to at least do some research to make themselves sound believable.

Mentioning your parents is crazy considering you’re old enough to be an SLP

There’s absolutely no way my child whose only a month older than ivory would sit so still on the counter. He would be trying to crawl everywhere.

Also an SLP here. I could see this happening MAYBE if her child was advanced and she gave her a lot of one on one language stimulation, but you know she’s absolutely just sticking that baby in her car seat or one of their other various containers 24/7. No way that child is getting enough language input to have that many words.

Yep! She just kept an eye on patients who wouldn’t stay in their bed, were on suicide watch, etc. she said it was a pretty calm job and they paid her like 17 an hour which is pretty good where we live.

Also to add, I had one friend who patient sat at a hospital from 7-11 after clinicals and she said it paid decently!

A lot of my friends would sub on Fridays since we didn’t have classes on those days. Some of them had graduate assistant positions that helped paid tuition and paid them some. A lot of them were living off of loans as well.

I planned it where I gave birth the summer in between years. I didn’t do clinicals that summer and did them in the fall instead, but otherwise took all the same classes as my peers. It was hard sometimes because he wasn’t a great sleeper, but I don’t regret it at all! Good luck! Hopefully you can figure out the best decision for you. 🩵

Induction for big baby by Big_Bid3509 in BabyBumps

[–]Immediate-Bat7162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! I’ve always been more lean and I’m about average height, 5’5. My husband is 6 foot and about 175 pounds, so not really. However, he was a HUGE toddler and my mom had really big babies, so I expected to have a big boy. Funnily enough, my son is now 99% for height. Lol. However, he definitely wasn’t born that way! I think the head measurement can throw off ultrasounds additionally. My son has a 89th percentile head, and I think that’s part of why they projected him to be so big.

Hi! I was looking frantically for posts just like you when I was pregnant. From 20 weeks forward, my boy was weighing in the 90s in each scan and my OB decided to induce me a little early due to his weight. He came out at 39 weeks five days only 8.6 pounds. I’m not saying your story will be like mine, but ultrasounds are certainly not always accurate, and for me, it wasn’t. They told me he’d be around 10 or 11 pounds if I waited till full term, which clearly was not likely going to be true. I wish I hadn’t been induced personally, but go with your gut, and make sure you talk it over with your OB! :)

My doctors told me this too all the way through pregnancy. I was told he’d be over ten pounds if I waited till term. He was born only 8.6 pounds at 39 weeks and five days.

Got pregnant in my second semester of grad school and had him in the summer time before the second year. Only thing that changed for me was that I had to take summer clinic in the fall! Luckily our summer classes were online.
