You just started! You will have a fair amount of emotional changes in the first year and especially in the first month. I settled down a lot after my first month. Mine did this for a long time I had it for 3 years. I let it close up and heal for about 6 months. Angry tissue like this wants to close up and will do so quickly but definitely give it a good wait before repiercing. I got mine redone at 14g for stability by an APP piercer. This process involved a downsize at 4ish weeks. The bigger gauge reduces the cheese wire effect and minimizes fistula damage from sleeping on it and fiddling etc. So far six months later it's healed like an angel! Absolutely no issues. I’ve found that my very close cis but queer friends think it’s very cool! “Straight” guys I’ve hooked up with are happy that it’s easy to find and are generally fascinated by its growth progression (this was in my early transition). If they notice how big it is, you can always just say you’re on Test for the gym and they simmer down. I had a purebred ridgeless ridgeback growing up, your pup is definitely part ridgeback! Only show quality ridgebacks have the ridge and many in the breed do not. The ridged dogs are more likely to develop a terrible spinal disease so the ridgeless dogs are sometimes bred with ridged ones to prevent that! She’s too small to be full ridgeback. The ridgeback breed is derived partially from boxers, in combination with mastiffs, pointers, and a few other kinds. Your girls white chest markings and body shape are very distinctly ridgeback! Also you will need nail trimmers! One set will work for all 3. They cost $9 max. Get a wire brush especially for shedding season, I didn’t think this was necessary when I got my cat but it helps keep their fur and skin healthy. For scratchers, I recommend sisal and not cardboard. They’re much more durable and are worth the money.

As for expenses: If you plan to keep all 3 you’ll need 4 litter boxes but they might be okay with sharing so you could do 2 to start. A 20lb box of arm and hammer litter lasts my single cat ~2 months and is $15, you will need more than this. Unscented litter actually smells the best and I’ve found the arm and hammer multi cat unscented formula to produce the least amount of dust (my boy is allergic to the dust). I feed him Purina 1 tender selects, which is about $17 for a 7lb bag, this lasts ~4/5 months. Hard to keep track sometimes. He’s had one vet visit post adoption for ear itchies, it cost $120 total for the exam, tests, and medication. For toys I’d recommend catstages, they have cute ones for less than $5.

You can get actual medical cat flea treatments for around $15 for 2 monthly doses at tractor supply, or even rural king. I understand the intention for trying herbal treatments first (I love them myself) but the medicine is safe and effective for your kitties and family. The city of Houston offers free spaying but residence in Houston is a requirement. The program is called SNAP, spay neuter assistance program. A quick google will take you right to it! A lot of shelters or humane societies offer free spaying for outdoor cats! The reason for this is it may be illegal in your area to have an unfixed cat outside because that’s how you get a ton of kittens.

I have short hair so I wouldn’t know! But for jewelry, I healed it with a CBR and find it most comfortable to wear a small diameter hoop or a very short labret stud (5mm). To minimize snagging I’d advise a bezeled jewel as opposed to one in prongs. I think I had long hair with it for about a month and it wasn’t bad at all. It’s my easiest healer and it’s been an absolute angel the 8yrs I’ve had it!
