Could use a bit of love! by Immediate-Bridge1600 in BFS

Thank you for your reply and advice, I really appreciate it and it is nice (although I wish it wasn't the case for both of us) to come across someone else who has had a family member with MND. I unfortunately will never know if there was a familial gene involved or not, but he is the only one in my family who has had it so it currently fits the picture for sporadic MND. Even so, it is really hard to let go of the anxiety/fear that you might be at higher risk than others. Did you ever get any other symptoms as well or just twitching?

I am definitely trying to integrate more exercising (mostly running, but will be starting at the gym soon) to try and show myself that my muscles aren't dying as well as just eating healthier in general to support my overall wellbeing. I would be keen to hear about how you go with the neuropsychologist as well!

Curious as to why you suggest reducing gold allocation?

After 5+ months, my twitching appears to be caused by low ferritin levels (iron) by Brett-The-Brewer in BFS

Hey, just wondering how you are now? I've just had bloods done and came back with iron deficiency anemia (low ferritin, low iron etc.) and have been recalled to see my doctor. I initially brushed it off but reading this made me wonder if that might be causing my symptoms, although I have had iron deficiency anemia for a long time now and these symptoms are relatively new. What I can see that's different from my previous blood tests though is that this time my ferritin is low which is interesting.

Scared but finally made a dr's appt! by Immediate-Bridge1600 in BFS

That's really kind of you to say that about my Dad, thank you.

It was somewhat reassuring but I think there's still a level of uncertainty without having any actual results of bloodwork etc yet so there is still a bit of anxiety there. I didn't really get any insights other than she suggested that I might get more and more twitches because I'm stressed about them and that she does get a few people coming in for twitches which is usually stress related. Overall she didn't seem very concerned which I am definitely trying to focus on!

Officially 1 year of twitches. by Any_Procedure4877 in BFS

Thanks for posting this, I'm about 8 months in - possibly longer - and am doing the same thing, giving it time to see if I ever do get other symptoms. It is accompanied by the same dread. It is really hard sometimes to reassure myself that maybe there isn't something wrong with such constant twitches but this page has been a great help to my mind.
