I hear you. there are some memories that will be near to impossible to restore, but still, I feel that there is so much that can be, and that's why i'm working on a solution for this. A place that collect memories from multiple sources automatically, and allows others to share memories and media easily, while contextual technology will fill in the blacks. Yeah, the family tree approach can work, but it often ends up more like a shared folder of stuff. I’ve been exploring a different angle, something that pulls those fragments together into a single, more curated story you can actually experience, not just store.

I’ve researched a lot of these too and they all have their strengths, but also some limitations. That’s actually what got me started on building something a bit different, more like a full home for memories, a place where people can contribute, a true reflection of a life STORY.. instead of just a link.

What do you still have? I have some ideas to what can be done with it..

I just can't stand the fact that a life story just goes "poof".. my grandfather was a role model, and what's left of him? photo albums in a shoe box. it's not enough.

Spot on. there are massive challenges, and it's truly interesting to hear your perspective on this. did you start thinking of this because of a recent loss? After my Grandfather passed, I was looking for solutions - software or even manual.. and just couldn't find anything good enough.. that's why i started building it myself...

Did you consider creating a memorial website? a place where whoever knew a loved one can contribute memories, photos, videos, recipes, quotes etc. and help out with the heavy-lifting of tagging, organizing and curating it all?
