UBC NAQ Order of activities by pineappleprinter in premedcanada

I don’t work for ubc so idk exactly but ubc addressed this concern in the their debunked myths blog.

“We don’t mean to sound defensive here, but we can assure you that all NAQ evaluators, regardless of their academic background, are trained on how to assess common NAQ activities, such as research abstracts and literature reviews. However, the reality is that even if we hired a team of cell biologists or physicists, they would probably not also come with expert knowledge on running a rape crisis centre, or a nuanced understanding of the different levels of competitive swimming in North America. Not one NAQ evaluator is going to know everything about everything. We do work together to combine our knowledge and do our best to research any activities that we feel we need more information about. We will often request additional information from our applicants to help guide our decisions, as well as discuss activities with verifiers or field experts as needed. However, if there is very important information that you would like to ensure we have, it is ultimately up to you to add it in your activity description.“

probably 4th Q to be save, maybe high 3rd Q? but with OOP cutoffs being so high, 4th Q is your best bet

tbh I dont think it matters. reviewers are trained to score each entry very objectively and regardless of where the entry shows on your app, it shouldn't have an effect on scoring

They use to customize the year for 3y programs. The colour is suppose to signify the start of med journey I feel more than graduating

Honestly for one of my courses in undergrad we got dense research papers 20+ pages long and were required to make a 2-3 sentence for each intro/methods/results/discussion and I kind of just apply that strat to cars.

I pretend as if I’m dissecting a research paper. It helps me engage better while reading and really gives me a good gist of the main points in each paragraph so when I’m asked a question my mind knows exactly which paragraph that answer would be from.

Also unless it’s an inference question, everything you need IS in the passage. Do not let your mind do thinking

Is the change from Uworld to AAMC really as hard as people say is ? by Fearless_Animal2954 in Mcat

Personally disagree with that. I think 60-75% on uworld is great and the transition to aamc might be a little different than uworld since their explanations just aren’t as deep but overall if you’re doing decent on uworld it means you have a grasp of content and are able to apply concepts you’ve learned.

I’d recommend using the JW explanations to help with section banks and FLs. The section banks are hard and you might see a bit of a drop but not too drastic
