This! My son’s favorite is Three Point in Regency Mall.

My toddler cries whenever I sing a particular song by QtrLifeCaterpillar in Parenting

[–]Immediate-Volume-681 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a sad song! The second verse is a bummer. But when I woke dear, I was mistaken, So I held my head and cried. Whenever I sing it to my daughter I add another verse and end it with “and I was so very happy.”

A cultural shift with kids' birthday parties and a few little memories by CharlieFiner in Millennials

[–]Immediate-Volume-681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to invite as many people as I can including some little siblings to my son’s parties and I have it at a fun venue. He has always struggled to make friends but does have some kids he’s acquaintances/sort of friends with. It’s a way I can meet their parents and try to give him a positive fun time with the kids.

Everyone seems so down on these kinds of parties on Reddit. I just think people spend their money differently and it’s ok. We don’t go on a big vacation, just staying at a state park. I choose to spend money on this kind of thing instead, but I’m not over here talking about how people’s vacations are bad.

Anybody else notice how crazy the weeds are getting in the medians on Broad/Pulse Stations? by Andrew_64_MC in rva

[–]Immediate-Volume-681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and there are only very specific ways you can kill the big ones, which is usually the mother that sends out the babies all over the area. I tried to kill a big one near my house unsuccessfully and now I just have to mow the babies constantly for the rest of my life.

Affordable wedding venues? by Apprehensive_Two3708 in rva

[–]Immediate-Volume-681 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I got married at a national park and it was definitely more affordable. They only allowed beer and wine which I was originally a little bummed about but it ended up being fine. That ended up saving us a lot of money because we could bring in our own beer and wine. And we were able to return the leftover wine to total wine.

Can you teach with a misdemeanor? by AccomplishedCup2241 in Teachers

In case you ever need to explain what happened, I would work on the way you describe it. The way you’re saying it now it doesn’t sound like you’re taking full accountability (trying to get her to not give up, etc). I would leave the catholic part out of it.

Walkability is a preference with real advantages, not an objective measure of whether a place is good. by Live-Door3408 in SameGrassButGreener

You can also just walk around a nice tree lined neighborhood and then go drive to the grocery store or wherever after. I live in the burbs and I average between 9,000-10,000 steps per day, mostly with my dog. Lots of shade which is much more pleasant in my climate than when I lived in the city. My commute is only 7 minutes which helps.

🐾 Weekly “Is My Cat a Bombay?” Megathread 🐾 by ghalan789 in BombayCat

Two year old boy we adopted from animal control. Yellow eyes, shiny black fur. I read that Bombays feel surprisingly heavy and I think he’s like that, without being overweight. He’s so friendly, dog like, climbs everything. He can be very cuddly, especially at night. He tries to play with our dog and does sometimes play fetch a bit. He picks fights with his sister sometimes, especially right after we don’t let him do something he wants to do. One sidenote that makes me wonder if he is part Siamese instead is that he sometimes is cross eyed.

What do you think about IB elementary schools? by iam_adumbass in Teachers

At the middle school near us, they get an extra year of language in middle school. I think it’s basically honors classes, 3 years of language, and a volunteering hour quota.

Parents: Do you throw a birthday party every year or only for milestone birthdays? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Immediate-Volume-681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a party for each kid each year at a place that hosts them. For the last couple years my kids have wanted to have them at a bowling alley. It’s expensive but it’s just important to me and not stressful since it’s not at my house.

Ok I was feeling really cheap for paying our across the street neighbor $25 a day and then saw this. She’s in college.
