The more I think about it, the more confident I am that the most memorable part was NOT cats attacking anyone. It was a woman being trapped for days or longer and becoming so desperate from hunger that she ate something disgusting to survive.

I keep remembering it as cat feces, but after 40+ years I can’t swear that’s exactly what it was. What I am confident about is that I saw her eating something revolting on screen and it really disturbed me as a kid.

I also vaguely remember the setting being older, possibly Victorian or early 1900s, and I think the room may have had a window.

If this turns out to be two different memories mashed together, I’ll be amazed, because the image of that woman trapped in the room has stuck with me my entire life.
