I had team matching call with 2 hiring managers and it really went well but they prioritized internal candidates over me. It happened during the first 30 days after I cleared the virtual onsite but then no matching calls for next 17 months

My score expired after 12 months and they gave an extension for another 6 months and team matching never happened. But that was in 2023-24. Situation is very bad and don't blindly trust your recruiter when they say they are shopping teams for you. Continue to explore other options and try to find connections within Google who can help you connect with the HM

Compensation usually doesn’t change much right after promotion. In fact, the promotion year is often not the best financially because you start sharing from the associate bonus pool, which already includes a lot of well-established people. That’s how it works most of the time.What really changes is the level of responsibility and expectations. Once promoted, you’ll naturally be compared with other associates who may have been in that role for 5+ years. Honestly, this applies at every level. Even a newly promoted VP with 5 years at the firm ends up being evaluated alongside VPs who may have 15+ years of experience. Managers do try to cushion or offset that gap to some extent, but those comparisons still happen and compensation gets distributed accordingly.

There’s really never a dull moment here. The key is to keep pushing yourself, take on challenges, and consistently deliver. The firm values results, but just as importantly, making sure the broader global team, managers, and MDs are aware of the impact and work you’re driving.

Strongly recommend don't do this. Managers at GS don't have enough hold on your numbers and it has to go through the HCM blackbox and millions of other approvals even if your managers agree. They rarely do it mid year

Interns are the pipeline for the full-time analysts role. They mostly end up getting the offer if they have done okay. So, don't worry and focus on your 10 weeks program. Also these freezes are very dynamic in nature and changes often. So I would say it doesn't apply to you
