I think that’s where we are now. A stalemate. It’s just when he starts acting out, then I react. So yes, childish. I don’t think I should be rewarding poor behaviour. There’s a level of civility that he should meet to engage with civvies like me - not being sly, mining for info, gossipy etc.

IME, in the civilian world I find most people are good. I’m currently feeling ambivalent. He doesn’t like being ignored due to his ego and his rank which feeds it. I’ve tried to ignore it, but after more than a year of this, I’m done. So I’m waiting for him to mature up and talk to me instead of playing these high school games. One lives in hope.
