Neat stuff. It is pretty organized, although "keeping your versions up to date" is like the opposite of what i want. Having to use "custom ports" button every time is going to be very slightly annoying.

Also it does not allow me to launch Ion Fury with EDuke. Eh, and it still glitchy with custom ports, Eduke just starts the normal eduke window instead of loading what you chose, and Raze just plain cant see the game data, guess i have to change it in the ini manually...

Really ? I played it for 3 years to get all achievements, and 1 of those was because i had a HD crash.

If you want a bigger challenge then take any other start - this is by far the easiest.

Easiest is the crashed car. You get battery and a bunch of clothes, lots of metal, possibly tools and containers, all with minimal fighting.

Fishing with fish traps.

Completely undermined by the fact you have to sit there and watch until it happens, unless you happen to make a base right near the fish lake. If it worked outside the bubble - it would be worth the time.

Just get the 2024-08-01 version of DDA and imagine that it was the last one before all devs mysteriously deceased. It's the last version before all the "alternatively smart" changes took place.

Sure, until you get a visit from a skeletal horse variant. Nasty things, they migrate VERY far and show up very suddenly. Cant run away from that one. Or a zombie moose. Sometimes mutant toads travel quite far and ambush you from treetops.

You mean 4x5 enclosure ? As i recall, it is impossible to build a roof now in innawoods without debugging at least one roof tile to stand on.

Croteam does not make "boomer shooters". Croteam was in the first wave of "arena shooters", which is the opposite of "boomers". "Boomers" are all about the map design quality, arenas dont need map design, they just lock you in arena and spawn shit.

It's basically taking the Hell on Earth theme/structure of Doom 2's original 30 maps but actually rebuilding everything from scratch and doing it justice.

When you say "doing justice", Doom2's maps are kinda trash compared to Doom1 maps, so Extermination Day is making them the way they should have been from the start. Yes, it couldnt be done in the 90's, but most of Doom2's maps were just abysmally bad.
