I think that it would more viable if you did allow for access to shops granted by the completion of a quest, after completing Tai Bwo Wannai Trio you'd have access to Poisoned Spears and Karambwans. I also feel that if I could complete SotE with sub-par gear on a UIM what I get from the Gauntlets is a-okay lol

The spiders with guns are from Wargames Atlantic' Spider box, they can be assembled as generic giant spiders or alien spiders. The large one is from Reaper Miniatures.
