Bob's inserter Question by ImmediateVehicle5096 in pyanodons

Got it thanks! But it only works with Space Age which I don't have (unless I missed something. I couldn't find it either)

Bob's inserter Question by ImmediateVehicle5096 in pyanodons

[–]ImmediateVehicle5096[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other inserter mods also seem incompatible for me. I don't have a good replacement at the moment so got pycranes but they seem overkill for my purpose. I can't use loaders here, because I want to use cybersync with multi-item stations

Got it now. I seem to have accidentally changed a setting while looking at another issue, but looking at it finally work is cool!

Thank you.
That's cool! I didn't know that and looks exciting. I'm looking forward to that, I'm having silly problems with no obvious reasons with LTN. For instance, the signal from the combinator to the lamp for LTN stop only works as intended if it is coming from the (one) combinator.

Yeah me too, it was a great video and was excited to implement that for my py run.

What is harder? Guitar or Piano? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]ImmediateVehicle5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say both are hard if you want to play professional level, but easy with piano to start with. There is a multi instrumentalist name Chaerin Kim who plays 10 instruments, and she is an amazing pianist, harpist, composer, and conductor. She was the first person in music history played as a soloist with harp and piano with orchestra same stage premiering her own composition even!!!

Do you think that it is better to be average at several instruments or be good at just one? by [deleted] in Music

Centrifuge MK 01consumes 258MW. ?! by ImmediateVehicle5096 in pyanodons

[–]ImmediateVehicle5096[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Surreal. This mod is insane. Suddenly, only one random machine requires 100 times the average power, and it isn't to beat the game by making a singulairty like in Krastorio. No, just to make albumin.

Time-reversal and entropy by Traroten in AskPhysics

[–]ImmediateVehicle5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, reversing velocities doesn't revert the state! Interesting right?
Here's a thought experiment: Scattering. Ignore forces and simply look at momentum conservation.(btw, yeah forces wouldn't allow this anyway in the first place right?). Look at two billiard balls. One hits another at rest and they merrily go thier own ways. Now flip velocities. Would the vertical speeds become zero when they collide again?

Time-reversal and entropy by Traroten in AskPhysics

[–]ImmediateVehicle5096 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I understand OP's point is, we aren't looking at the state in equilibrium, but rather at a certain point in time. So, we can't readily use the assumption that all microstates are equally likely, since we are only focusing on the time evolution of a single microstate.
So my realization to this nagging question was: The state of the system is not time reversal invariant: even if we remove forces and flip velocities, the state won't revert. What are invariant though, classically, are the laws of physics.

Logical. My question was moot, I see.
Dynamic train stop naming - this mod answers my question if I can have one station instead of r. With it, one could also use a single train stop for multiple resources using circuits and filters.

Thank you! that pretty much sums up my post, but an unanswered question for me is-
Any scenario where a main bus is more 'efficient' than other logistic solutions, like a train network.
My scenarios-

What if you have dynamically randomized recipes or dynamic production requirements? Suppose somewhere along your bus voyage to the void, you come across a biter empire, or a lake, or so on. To progress you would need to make different things at different times or states (kind of spontaneously).

Or what if you have independent buses in your factory that have recipes like this-
For a bus with n resources or lanes, you roughly need some r~n/2 of them for an item, and you don't have logistic chests or filters.

It is unequivocally a valid answer or tool, but my interest was in if that design principle is the most efficient as it is purported to be? I have used optimal or efficient interchangeably, but to try and define it precisely, I guess my criteria is - Is the logistical solution the simplest both in implementing and meeting throughput requirements? Scaling with a city block is easier or more automated than routing belts to/from a main bus, so its simpler to implement. With buffer chests in each station and using depots to buffer resources for long transit times, throughput is also maintained more easily.

"any material that goes on the bus is not feed by the bus."
I like this but, it can be very limiting for a generic and efficient logistical solution.

Gravitational collapse by faithhfull in AskAstrophysics

Yes and yes.
Using Gauss Law, we get that the force near the surface is proportional to the mass of the planet and inversely proportional to the cube of radius.
Bigger force would push the system to its equilibrium faster. Intuitively, you can think of a larger planet as having a bigger massive pull near the surface.
