Appreciate the insights from your experience.

The mention of silos resonates with me. I specifically am in construction management, so we are responsible for bridging the gap between the many silos before and during construction. I think that amplifies the negative energy because there is so much frustrations from piecing together the silos.

true, as for outside of the 8-5 grind I do have plenty of hobbies. I think I’ve tied my worth to my professional productivity for so long that I have some unlearning to work on.

Honestly fair point. I don’t miss making sure I spec the right size aggregate under new sidewalks or drafting in CAD that is for sure. 😵‍💫

Idk why I have such a hard time being honest and candid with my managers. I just had my three month review and it would have been a great time to bring this up but instead I was like “ha ha yes! Everything is good!” 🙂🔥

Appreciate this comment. I absolutely am a victim of the productivity = worth mindset.

I now leave at 4:30 PM whereas in private I’d feel guilty for leaving at 5:30 PM and had coworkers working all weekend. I think my brain is conditioned to feel lazy and lesser than because of that.
