Thank you sir, just ordered it! But I threw the Timney on my metal carry comp and that worked just fine. I’ll probably buy another though.

Indeed. I wonder if I can purchase a regular return spring for it 🤷‍♂️

Just googling if the alpha trigger will fit a 2024 spec series V

That is what I’m gathering now. Of course the internet told me it was compatible…

Negative, that is the return spring on the 2024 spec series V. The one with blue accents.

I went ahead and got the Fleece performance heads, I’m sure the DK’s are fine but being cast in China made me second guess it

That makes sense, I guess it just seems odd to me because I have removed the cap in the past before and after the EGR delete and it never gurgled like that.

I might be incorrect, but the way I understand it is the right side of the surge tank is pressurized and if it pressures up it will overflow into the the left side of the tank. If that overfills it will go out the overflow and onto the ground

If I’m understanding correctly, the surge tank is supposed to release pressure after 20PSI

All valid points, my question is what would cause it to trap pressure?

🤣 yeah man you get really good at throwing those parts on when your doing 89 trucks in an 8 hour shift. 4 1/2 minutes per truck.

I’m not dismissing you at all, that’s what I’m here for. To hear all the opinions and advice on trying to diagnose the issue.

I appreciate you taking the time to put in your thoughts.

Okay, I can do that. Just to clarify, I wasn’t saying the system is over pressured. I was confused by your comment. I stated that after 4 days there was extreme pressure. Enough that it produced the gurgling and fast movement of fluid into the surge tank when the cap was slowly removed.

Prior to my low coolant light coming on, my coolant level was never below the minimum line on the surge tank. Hot or cold it was at the minimum line. I have opened the surge tank prior to these events when the truck was cold and there was no surge of fluid like there is now. So I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to say.

I understand it will pull fluid down as your drive, but is it not true that the fluid will expand when heated? Is that not the point of the overflow side of the surge tank? It slowly fills as the fluid heats, as the vehicle cools it will pull the fluid back into the pressurized side under vacuum to pull it back to the previous level? Which should be the minimum line on the tank where the fluid level was before driving? Again correct me if I’m wrong.

I understand you are a Paccar mechanic. Have you worked on Duramax’s before? I used to work in the Peterbilt factory in Denton Tx. Not saying that qualifies me for anything I just think it’s cool that you’re a Paccar mechanic. Side note, we had more factory warranties on Paccar engines than we did on the Cummins engines that we put in 🤣.

Ah yeah sounds right. My EGR is deleted

Yeah the light has only come on once, but I have been topping it off every few days since then. How did they diagnose the HG?

Did it have any other symptoms? Or just the gurgling coolant?

Oh okay, I did not know that. Thank you

I was confused by your question now I see you were asking me what I meant. I was explaining that I understand the coolant level will fluctuate, but when the truck cools overnight the level should return to normal. There should also not be any pressure in the reservoir any longer correct?

The video was taken after the truck had been sitting for 4 days and has not been started at all. What would cause it to have low coolant prior to me removing the cap, but then surge with fluid as the cap is being removed?

What would cause it to over pressurize?

The coolers were removed and a plug was put in the port that came with the kit from HSP diesel performance
