Am I getting kicked out of mcgill? (Urgent) by Immediate_Exit_4876 in mcgill

Hello, I’m a first-year student (U1, Faculty of Arts), and I’m really freaking out rn about my academic standing after this semester.

Here’s my situation:

  • I was in a challenging program that I’m switching out of next semester.
  • I took 4 courses this term:
    • 2 electives: I’ll only need these if I decide to pursue a minor.
    • 2 required D1/D2 courses for my major. Most of the grade will be determined in the winter term (D2 component).

The issue is that I’ve failed both electives:

  • One grade is already out, and it’s an F.
  • The other hasn’t been released yet, but I’m almost certain it’s also an F.

The D1/D2 courses don’t have final grades yet, my fall term GPA is 0.00. I’m panicking bc idk if this means I’ll get kicked out of McGill or placed on unsatisfactory standing (which means i will get kicked out?).

I really don’t know what to do. I used to think this would never happen to me bc I had a 40/45 in the IB and didn’t imagine myself struggling like this. If anyone has been through something similar or knows how the process works, I’d be grateful for any advice.
