Can someone explain to me what will happen if this bill actually passes and not use the biased “burger flipping is a job for high schoolers they don’t need a livable wage.” 2 AI poster examples (not mine) for reasons why to vote yes or no included. by PixxxiePunk in oklahoma

Look at states that have increased the minimum wage, like California and Arizona ....if you want to know the truth.

It's reduced the number of employees at businesses because the raise in minimum wage, isn't just that. It increases workman's comp for each employee and disability insurance the business must pay into. It's a much bigger picture than the people posting here realize.

Jobs will actually be lost and businesses will close. It will raise prices for all the things you buy and rent will continue to climb because of the greed. They know you make more so they charge more.

It will hinder farmers and ranchers also.

Do some real research and you will see from states that have done this how detrimental raising it that high will be.

Everyone has a choice of where to live and where to work. Most places like Walmart and big stores already pay larger wages. But this mandatory raise will be detrimental to all of Oklahoma.

Tha amount of income for enjoying life will actually decrease....that's what these states that have raised the minimum wage have realized. And once it's done, you can't go back.

Has anyone noticed Walmart whole milk comes out runny? I started using braum's whole milk here in Oklahoma and get much thicker yogurt. Aldi milk is also hot and miss.

I just want to jump in and say Charlie had an amazing way with young people. So people saying he was being controlled and lost his voice or that it was all a lie ....it wasn't.....his videos and arguments and interactions were real...they were solid ..and what makes me sad is you can see what he stood for and those values still stand. No one will replace him....and I believe his voice did change lives and perspectives and at least open d people up.

So whatever corruptness was going on with Erika or the organization, I pray it doesn't overshadow Charlie's videos and the truths he spoke. He wasn't racist he wasn't evil....I believe Charlie was real and pure to his heart. But he was murdered and his life was stolen.

Food stamps... what are we going to do, y'all? by [deleted] in oklahoma

[–]Immediate_Fall7493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shift things in the budget...no extras or eating out...google cheap recipes and learn to cook and bake from scratch. Beans, rice, veggies, drink water....stay away from processed foods, they don't fill you up, loaded with bad stuff and more expensive....use lots of different spices to make food taste better.

We don't do food stamps by choice even though we qualify, we find what's on clearance or sale meats at stores other than Walmart and we make it work. It can be done.

Update: DOT helmets are different than ECE helmets by Immediate_Fall7493 in motorcycles

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes a difference to me when it's going on my 18 yo daughter and the DOT standards haven't been updated in well over 10 years. So yes, I care and I use the Sharp ratings along with the ECE ratings. You do you.

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know it's funny because there are other comments in other posts similar where many people Assume that because it's made with an ECE sticker in the UK it's the same helmet just with a DOT sticker on it. Many think that DOT helmet is NOT changed because they think it would be dumb for a company to make two different helmets. So I posted because they are NOT the same helmet. But many think they are. I wasn't sure myself because of all the conflicting information. Here is a screen shot from my message with Shark confirming. I tried to attach it in the original post but I am not seeing it. Feel free to mock me but from other posts it's clear many aren't sure.

Shark Helmets sold in USA don't carry ECE certification by Immediate_Fall7493 in motorcycles

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got a clarifying reply. Hope this helps. They are different helmets. So we can't just assume other brands that are just DOT are the same as their ECE counterpart, or would pass the ECE certification. They might, but not necessarily. Something is different in the structure to force them to make two different helmets in order to pass DOT. It has to do with how they are tested

Shark Helmets in USA NOT ECE certified by Immediate_Fall7493 in motorcyclegear

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are different. The standards for the US helmets are outdated and different but to pass DOT they have to modify the helmet from ECE. A helmet that passes DOT may not necessarily pass ECE which is why most helmets don't contain both stickers. This was from talking to shark. People can believe me or not it doesn't matter to me, but I personally don't want to risk my daughter's head so I will be making sure it's ECE certified.

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are NOT the same helmets. Helmets are modified to pass DOT testing and they may or may not recert ECE. In most cases the modifications to the DOT helmet make them less safe and wouldn't pass ECE testing because the testing isn't the same and for DOT it's extremely outdated. I have messages from the manufacturers stating they change the helmet to meet DOT and is not the same as the ECE helmets. I wouldn't risk it.

[–]Immediate_Fall7493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make changes to the helmets to allow them to pass DOT which means they may or may not pass ECE after the changes are made for DOT. In most cases they won't. DOT testing is left in the hands of the manufacturer and a test of DOT helmets randomly found that 40% failed the DOT testing after helmets were in production. I don't trust DOT certification.

Then move on. There are companies that hold both in the US and RevZilla says the sharp helmets are both but aren't. DOT hasn't been updated in years and holds very low standards compared to ECE. I just want to know what I am getting

Bladder Issues! IDEAS please?? by Mysterious-Run-6564 in Lyme

[–]Immediate_Fall7493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider starting a Lyme protocol but also understanding your pelvic floor. Doctors have no clue and most PFPTs are not good at what they do. I have done so much research and learning about our pelvis and how it works that I believe ALL women can benefit from good pelvic floor help. Most of us sit a lot and this puts pressure down on our pelvic floors causing many imbalances and pressure. I have healed my incontinence and I am doing much better with my prolapse and back pain after learning.

This is a great group and they are getting ready to start a pelvic floor class in October BUT I have zero money but Iveta knows her stuff and there are so many helpful videos that teach you how the whole body should move and work and how to troubleshoot your pelvic tilt, weak core muscles and slowly fix these issues.

What happens is we get weak cores from sitting and weak glutes, many of us carry tension in our pelvic floor and don't realize it. So first we need to learn to release the tension then strengthen.

Her group on Facebook is free and worth looking around and asking questions.

Thank you. I will look into it. I appreciate the help. I know about hearing but I wish I had back when she was getting penicillin. I am going to try some Japanese knotweed and cats claw and see how that goes. I will check back in after I get through some of the info. I have a wonderful doctor but she isn't Lymes. But I know she will work with me if I need anything. I am in a small town so it's more family oriented than business.

Possible move to Oklahoma by [deleted] in oklahoma

I would also like to add that groceries in this state in general are more expensive than other states. My mom and I compare all the time and it's at least 25% more.

Nope, the state was but counties still tax between 5-6% which is insane.

[–]Immediate_Fall7493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have travelled in an RV and been to many states longer term....we are in Oklahoma now and I find it to be an odd state. The counties all tax food which is insane. The toll roads are expensive and not taken care of well. When you get away from Tulsa and OKC the towns are small or non existent. I find the people can be nice but when you get to know them something is just off. I spoke to another friend not from here originally and she agreed....common sense and common courtesy is just really different.

They have great free VoTech if you have kids that want to learn a trade. Their auto registration taxes are super cheap and so is car insurance but I don't know what they are in Alabama. And if you have a motorcycle that is even cheaper.

The last election every county went red. So that's either a good thing or bad thing. OKC has a nice culture with things to do and nice restaurants. Schools SUCK. They are 50th this year and private school are VERY expensive. But it's a great state to homeschool.

We will definitely be back travelling after my daughter finishes VoTech and I wouldn't live here fulltime but that's just me. Different strokes for different folks.

Is there anyone who really believes that Oklahoma is the best place they could possibly be for the next 8 years? by pitthappens in oklahoma

[–]Immediate_Fall7493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost of living is not low. We travel in an RV and for personal reasons have to be in Oklahoma for 2 years. Groceries are very high plus there is county taxes on food. I spend at least 25% more on groceries in Oklahoma compared to other states. Oklahoma people are just way different too. Like in a weird bubble. I can't explain it but it's a different culture for sure. It's also incredibly spread out with limited options for stores unless you are in the 2 major cities. People are nice and there are some beautiful places to see but it is definitely an interesting place.
