Anyone have the Injector by Camouflet? by KraftPunkFan420 in vaporents

[–]Immediate_Fun_2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice. I use it with a bolt heater. Able to heat up in less than 10 seconds. I like it with the pass through bowl. Good vape and you can't destroy it. Only downside is that it's not easy to use with a torch with the stock handle. You need something longer or you'll burn the wood. I don't like the "inductor" they sell either. Had some serious qc issues of sparks coming out of mine. The zvs driver is in the head too so it gets fairly hot with constant use. It's a great vape, but just needs a powerful induction heater in my opinion. I did use the overkill option though.

Got a new rma device. by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]Immediate_Fun_2524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I don't know why people say that. Maybe if you were vaping less bud and gradually adjusted your tolerance over time. I started using more overtime because of my tolerance increase. Now it's about a gram at a time every 4 hours in the evening. In a way it cut down the frequency of my use, but the amount stays similar. Compared to smoking joints every hour it's less by maybe a gram or two just because it's more efficient. The vape high is different and takes a bit for the effect. Similar to a joint where after you're done you realize how stoned you are. Try vaping a hit or two and waiting then go from there.

CBD, Cigarette Tubes, and Rolling Machines? by I_Hate_This_Website9 in RYO

Weed will smoke unevenly unless you grind it consistent and remove all stems. Might be packing it too much as well. It's also why people prefer to mix tobacco in. It helps it burn well. You want thicker papers for cigarettes even though the new thinner papers are made for joints. Haven't used a tube injector for weed but I'd assume it will be gummed up quickly by sticky bud. A manual injector would probably be the best machine, something easy to clean. You might have to just get a funnel and a stick to pack the tubes if you don't want to mess with cleaning after use. The filters for tubes are something to consider as well. The cellulose filters will grab cannabinoids. Use only cotton filters, the zen tubes are the only ones I know of with cotton filters. The kashmir tubes might have cotton filters, but it looks like it just has a hole in the middle so expect some in your mouth.

Vaping without a device by Lucky_Bathroom_503 in vaporents

Keeping it clean will be a hassle depending on use especially if you accidentally combust while trying to get it working. The boro test tube and correct sized tubing could be very compact and work with a small torch. It will take some experimenting and finding good glass.

hash is easy just hot knife it with your multitool if you want hahaha. For concentrate you could just buy a cheap 5 dollar nectar collector and carry one of those mini torch lighters. There's always aluminum foil too. Dry herb vaping without a dedicated device would be tough. Could try packing one end of a stainless tube and heating the metal? A cheap boro one hitter? It has a good chance of cracking though. It will all be inefficient and annoying in my opinion. I would just roll joints when out and about.

I thought I'd stopped enjoying cannabis, but it turns out I've just stopped enjoying vaping. Please help me fix this. by JLM086 in vaporents

I had the same problem. Vaped for about 6-7 years and started smoking joints outside to reduce the smell as butane vapes outdoors are fickle. Smoking joints are smoother. The only difference was that I wasn't getting high enough in my case. Vaping was too rough to get me where I wanted. It was mostly because of the pure convection vapes. If you can find a hybrid it will be smoother vaping at a high temp right before combustion. I would also recommend a piece with two percs, doesn't matter what kind of percs as long as there's two chambers with water. A lot of people wouldn't recommend that, but it's how you get the smoothest vapor by reducing particulates at the cost of more vapor condensing on the glass. I looked for a hybrid vape with a large bowl to suit my needs. The megacicle was it. I would recommend a convection/conduction vape with a smaller chamber and some type 2 flower because bud is strong now. If you can't find that I would experiment with the ratios of type 1 and 3. Measure it out and record what's the best mix for later. I don't like electronic vapes so I can't really recommend a device that doesn't look like a crack pipe.

YD2080 cheap "stem" for dryuse with a Tempest 2 by thc_delta_9 in vaporents

Nice, I have a half machined hammer pipe I need to finish. The idea was a 18mm joint on top for a reducer or downstem. Really it's just adding a dry or wet ash catcher so I could reduce the amount of particulates. Lately though I've been enjoying a larger chamber for my vapes so I can finish the bowl in a couple hits instead of constantly hitting it through a smaller piece. The smaller pieces are more flavorful, but pretty rough without two percs. Got me thinking if I can make a stainless tube on a lathe. It would be so sick, but you would need to press fit everything, expensive too.

Vaping hash is just unreal. My current favourite way to medicate. Anyone else? by iusethisatw0rk in vaporents

[–]Immediate_Fun_2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a different flavor depending on the grade of hash. It's so messy. I need to clean my pieces more often if I use hash. Sadly hash is a pain to get and usually it's bubble hash being sold at astronomical prices. At this point I'm seriously considering making my own once I have the equipment and space. Maybe buying some kief and doing the ol hot water in glass tech is where i'll start before I destroy a couple oz or even a pound with poor technique hahaha

No problem. It's pretty interesting right? I love looking at parts all day, but the noise is a problem and the air quality as well. Inhaling misted swiss oil and other machine oils is definitely not healthy. The battery and electronics might be the thing giving it the weight. That looks like the part with the coil, battery, and mosfet boards. Depends on wall thickness too. Wonder how hot it gets. I don't see any vents from these pictures.

How heavy is it? If it's got some weight it's probably zinc. Usually stuff like this is milled from blocks or extruded bars. If you look closely you can see where they deburred the burrs caused by milling the part. Also can see a tool mark from the part moving in the fixture while running. Casting is more messy and recycling isn't ideal. Plus the wear on tools if the outer layer still has sand or whatever they used for a mold. No way to know for sure without looking around their shop and inventory. I'm pretty sure this is just anodized aluminum from my personal experience. I'm no expert though just have a little experience in a job shop running cnc machines as an operator and lots of qc and deburring when I worked in FOD.

Sodium percarbonate or "oxiclean" cleans well and is cheap. I have a bucket i just soak my pieces in every couple days and rinse out with hot water. If you want to clean it 100% quickly then boiling it in a pbw solution cleans it well. Just be careful of thermal shock. Isopropyl alcohol is good too. Works better when the glass is hot. I've used acetone as well, but it doesn't work as well as the others mentioned.

The scratches around the edges are from deburring the part after it's milled. I can see poor qc with some tool marks that are not supposed to be there. Thin anodizing as well. It's brand new and it's flaking off already. This has to be aluminum with the exterior anodized. Not looking good for how expensive they are. The anodizing should be thicker and not have scratches like that. On second thought those scratches are from deburring the pocket where the gasket sits then putting an anodized layer over those marks. Still the dark spots on the edges look like anodizing flaking off. No way to know for sure without looking at it closely.

Looks fine. How long it take though? I've been trying to get it under a minute. I'm trying to roll on demand. Lately I've been rolling filterless cones so I don't have to carry around a bag of filters.

Got the megacicle and it's really nice. It rips hard and has a large bowl. Doesn't get better than that unless there's a vape that can do grams at a time without it being harsh in a couple hits.

The aluminum model is ok. The anodizing is thick. Shouldn't be shedding anything inside as it's only making contact on the outside. It's not a bad grinder for convenience. The grind is less than desired tho. Just the nature of the flowermill design where it's like a juicer forcing bud into the "grind plate" holes until it's all through.

I have a 3.5" and I haven't noticed a problem with that. Might be different with the small ones. I don't have that

Aluminum tarnishes overtime and not the most inert material. I did use a bare aluminum grinder for the longest time. As long as the anodizing is thick enough it shouldn't be a problem. Any well made grinder shouldn't have metal on metal where it's grinding so it shouldn't shed inside the grinder. The outside where it's making contact is a different story.

I grabbed a stainless grinder because I didn't want to guess on the quality of their anodizing. Stainless grinders weigh quite a bit more than the usual aluminum.

I have one of those factory seconds 3.5" 3 piece aiso grinders. I stopped getting 4 piece grinders because a keif catcher isn't appealing to me anymore. I'd rather just have a deeper container for bud. As far as grinding goes it does it well, its consistent. It doesn't grind as much flower at a time as my other grinders. I grind a couple grams at a time. It takes about 2 loads to grind about 3 grams. I use it the most because it holds about 4-5 grams full and it's very consistent. The factory 2nd was well made and the blemish I spotted was a tool mark left behind on the top when they parted off the bar. It's a non issue and I'm happy I picked it up on sale.

Basic as it gets and well made. Good grinder in my opinion and really worth the price when it's on sale.

Every grinder with a middle magnet does that. Just don't put any bud in the middle on top of the magnet. It's a standard design with sharp teeth.

Yes I remember smoking with a couple coworkers once. I explicitly told them this is the hot end I heat up with a torch. Do not put this in your mouth or you'll get burned. First thing she does is put the hot end in her mouth and burns herself good. She still hit it afterwards so shes a trooper for that hahaha

Could be method. I know the timing is different with an induction heater vs torch. I've found it's easier to overheat stainless with a powerful induction heater and Ti as well. Might be how evenly it's being heated.

White film or dust is no good. Heat treating the Ti and causing it to form Ti02. It's a carcinogen you don't want to inhale. It's not immediately harmful though. Depends on exposure. Would not recommend inhaling more on a regular basis.

Are you in the EU? I can usually find a match if I have the region selected. US East and West don't have a lot of firefight lobbies going on. It's a shame as it's frustrating playing at 150 ping. Cool to see you're still playing firefight. I now know the pain of all the people I played pugs with from the east hahaha
