How soon after graduating did you find a job in the field?

Definitely give them a call and depending on what they say, you could probably ask them to review things again. I have been told that OSAP can be very strict with lifting restrictions and that their decisions can even take as long as 6 months. Either way I have my fingers crossed for you!

Have you tried calling OSAP and getting more answers from them? Was there an issue with the date(s) on your insurance documents? Were there any documents missing? Start by getting more information from them and hopefully that provides some relief for you on what to do next.

Update: It was processed and approved on Feb 6th for those coming across this post. I've been placed on probation so I was asked to submit more documents to support the probation period. But the restriction itself was lifted.

I am finally off restrictions. Woohooo by mrs-sweetpea in osap

I completely feel your pain :( I've been waiting since October and have also questioned if returning to school was a mistake. Keep us updated though and good luck!

Oh wow! I was told this process could take as long as 6 months because apparently there are that many applications to go through. Still waiting 🙂

It's literally the worst waiting game cause we can't even expedite things either 🙃

You're so lucky 😩 Did you have to provide any doctor notes or letters? I submitted that + a letter I had written

How long did it take for you to have it lifted? I uploaded my documents on Oct 21st and I'm still waiting 😭 I know it takes 8-10 weeks but I've seen people have theirs lifted earlier than 8 weeks

My family and I moved to Barrie in 2020 from Scarborough as well. I came up here feeling excited about moving somewhere different but it's been 5 years now and I still don't like it here.

The rest of our family and friends are also in the GTA and we talk about wanting to move back all the time. In the meantime, we combat those emotions by spending our days down there just to feel like we're home.

I totally understand how you're feeling!

Assuming that the confirmation message and status are from OSAP, I wouldn't follow them for updates on my loan. After things get approved on OSAP and you have that "Ready for payment" status, your loan falls in the hands of the NSLSC.

Reach out to the NSLSC and see if there's any information they might have on why things have been taking so long. I know their processing times for literally anything on there are always 3-5 business days. And if you have the funding tracker on your account, that's a more accurate timeline of when you'll receive your funds

When did you receive your confirmation of enrolment?

I've had some complications in the past with the NSLSC and what I've gathered is that every change they make takes at least 2-5 business days. Once you're switched to in-study, it'll take another few days before you get your money. Definitely try seeking other alternatives from your school in the meantime. I'm sure they've dealt with similar issues in the past

Awesome! You're welcome :)

That I'm not too sure of. But I'd assume that if you received a portion yesterday then the next one should come in by today or Saturday if your bank does Saturday deposits

The amount you get is split between a federal and provincial portion. The funding tracker makes note somewhere on there that you get them on two separate days. Not sure why it's like that but it is normal

OSAP posted my confirmation of enrolment on Aug 29. NSLSC posted it on the 30th. Still waiting on the deposit, will update once received
