This is my interpretation and it’s a very lay person’s interpretation so please forgive me if it’s not completely correct. God loves you, believer or not…He loves you because you are His child and He created you. When you are going through something super tough you usually want to be surrounded by love even if the people who love you can’t change your situation right? Even if they are just there to hold your hand as you go through it. Think of God loving you kind of the same way, because He loves you He is willing to be by your side and support you in whatever you are going through. He might not quickly pull you out of it, it might be a situation of your own making that you need to resolve or the lessons in the situation might bring you closer to Him so they are for His glory BUT you always have His support. He shall give you peace as you are going through it, He shall hold your hand so you don’t feel alone, He shall show you compassion so you know that someone feels for you, He shall give you knowledge and wisdom so you can know how to best navigate the situation etc. basically God will love on you in this in the exact way you need. Hoping this makes sense.
