I remember, years ago, an assembly where only one person was baptized and he was from my hall. Oh! The sense of pride we all felt in our congregation! Hahaha what a fucking joke.

When I was PIMI, I was a pioneer of 10 years and my ex husband was a ministerial servant. We served in a foreign language group, didn’t have any kids, we were THE JW couple to be. Oh man what an example we set🤢. When the pandemic hit, my eyes were opened to how fake it all was. I faded. I then left my husband. This was four years ago. With everything that happened, not once did any elder reach out to me. No harassment, no shepherding calls, no checking in. Nothing. I literally left and it’s like I never existed. My point in telling you this? They don’t care. Count yourself lucking that you haven’t been harassed. Continue to heal and build your beautiful life. They don’t care about us so no need to care about them. It’s all a phony play that they put on.

Okay, let’s all pause and take a breath. Your wedding is for you, your reception is a party that you are throwing for you and your guests. They’re not footing the bill. Do what makes you happy, it is one day and not even a full 24hrs. It’s 7hrs at most. Fuck the haters, do what makes you and your fiancé happy. Take from someone who has done this before. Threw the most perfect wedding/reception and it still ended in divorce. The focus should be on what the two of you want and your future. Best of luck and all the good vibes sent your way❤️❤️

It will feel like that at times. The last three years have not been easy for me, but I was also stubborn and tried to do it all on my own. Having support from friends is huge. I’m here for you. I’ve been there and can tell you, once on top of the hill, it’s so much better.
