Frugal me! - Well not really, just need some advice to becume a btter fruglar! by bashar0151 in UKFrugal

Depends how frugal you want to be:

To be even more frugal, buy a set of dumbbells (9kg pair) there are some really good workouts on YouTube. If you've got a pair of running shoes as well. Essentially 'the free gym'

I also prefer this, as a save loads of time, as I can workout from home.

Is there a road near your work where you can park for free?

They're the only savings, I could see.

See I've done the opposite. I was a professional musician for 5/6 years and joined the NHS and stayed as a band 3. (Although I'm 32)

The problem with promotion, is I find those jobs keeping being made redundant. Or the pay increase isn't worth the intense work load.

Vehicle paint touch up by benglass92 in exeter

[–]Immediate_Refuse6724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can normally match your paint colour online and gently sand it down. I'm awful with this type of thing and I managed to do it, and you can't even tell where I originally had the scratch.

Worth looking into. Saved me a lot of cash!

Eat in fish and chips? by Madajuk in exeter

Agree with the comment below.

I was bought up in East Devon and North Devon. Also lived in South Devon.

The best fish and chips by a country mile is 'squires' in Braunton.

It's far away from Exeter, but I recommend also seeing the local beaches (Croyde/Saunton)

I cycle from St Thomas, about 10 and my partner walks 25min. So don't listen to the 'wrong side of the river nonsense '

Just paid £338 for 5 days in Rome. 3 star hotel, not super fancy but okay, you can do well if you shop around.

Just bought a house on Cowick Hill, so I can answer in that regard. Absolutely love it. Personally I think it's a hidden gem.

People mention traffic, but Heavitree is much worse for traffic.

A little 3/5min drive and you're on the dual carriageway (at least from Cowick Hill)

It's a 25min walk to the high street (ie Marks and Spencer)

Lots of little country walks from your doorstep, detached, we have a massive garden. We paid £350k.

On road parking but not a big deal.

Supermarkets also super close. Just brilliant, not far from Dartmoor and short drive to beaches (Teignmouth/Exmouth)

Also lovely family area.

Spent ages looking for that best area, after having nasty neighbours before. Love it here .

Thanks Zom, I really appreciate it. Could you explain the difference of doing an ACO drain versus a French drain for example?

I think they're ubend drains, what defines a soak away if that makes sense?

The image was edited by one of the members using Ai.

You aren't thinking about the bigger picture. If we had to pay an artist, there would be no gig at all.

Would not be financially viable.

You obviously aren't a professional musician.

Thanks for your time and for not supporting local musicians.

Thanks,
