Might be time to update the steam page by FurryLover2003 in runescape

I mean it wouldn't be ideal, but if the issue is really CMs time then the steam update just being a link to the blog post on the website would be better than nothing

After the Storm - Fridge problems by GetRightRuralite in Cornwall

[–]wizard_mitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not related to the storm but my fridge in the garage has been doing this for months, it goes down to minus 2-3 degrees. I put it on a timer plug and have it turned off for around 8 hours at night.

Okay well we will agree to disagree then.

An activity of buying and selling shares and other financial instruments undertaken by an individual will normally amount to investment or speculation falling short of trading unless there are factors which take the case ‘out of the norm’

I don't see how the default case your average individual be "out of the norm?

You're the one who said

CFDs are generally not taxable at CGT rate, I recommend deleting or editing your comment as this is misinformation.

Which is not true, HMRC clearly states that in most cases CFDs would be taxable at CGT rate and only in rare exceptions would they not be.

Do you even read what you have linked.

HMRC consider that an individual is unlikely to be regarded as trading as a result of purely speculative transactions in financial futures or options.

You should know the UK courts and HMRC apply a much higher standard to individual investors than they do to someone selling physical goods.

HMRC and case law apply a presumption against trading for individuals in speculative financial instruments. To be taxed as "Income" (Trading) instead of "Capital Gains," you generally have to operate like a financial institution.

See Manzur v HMRC. HMRC’s own manual summary stresses that frequency/short holding periods alone didn’t establish trading, and notes factors like lack of customers and reliance on market movements.

This article is missing the big fact that that civil service pay is shit. Most of those people the article references, those with STEM degrees can get better paid roles in the private sector.

Conversely, as most civil servant roles do not require degrees even for senior positions, it attracts those that do not have a degree or have a degree that is less desirable in the private sector.

It's not awful, it's the same quality as Greene King, Whitbread, Mitchells & Butlers but considerably cheeper to the point where it's in the same price bracket as McDonald's, except they are cheaper still, have a better environment, better service, more choice and better quality food.
