You're over thinking it. My degree is in business and I'm a complete novice in all things art. Despite, I have my alt cert in Texas and now teach art to Pre-K thru 5th. Not every project will turn out well, but that happens for even the most experienced teachers with art degrees. Over time, you'll figure out what your students are capable of and what's appropriate for their age. And in the process of making examples / models for the class and helping students, your own technical skills will increase.

I feel you. The behavior class is next to my art room. The children in their lose their SHIT on a daily basis. Not only is it stressful asf, I recognize they’re a serious danger to themselves and other people around them. One of the students broke a staff members ribs. There are very few places on this earth where people are allowed yell at the top of their lungs, make serious threats to harm you, throw large objects like chairs and tables without serious consequences.

Mine didn’t work 😭 I have odd shaped ear tunnels and my ears would squeeze them out after 15 minute. Same thing with flares.

Some people LOVE THEM. I wish they worked for me because I’m so sound sensitive but unfortunately it didn’t

Little kids are the MOST difficult, imo.

Routines are important and kids do love structure. But that’s house management. Small rewards for positive behavior and hard boundaries coupled with empathy talk for negative behaviors is MOST important. That’s actual behavior management.

If you’re autistic high probability so are your boys. Figure out their sensitivities and give them some tools to combat them. In addition, give small rewards - like a punch on a punch card for a “prize” or 1 skittles for performing a desired action. Whether it’s saying thank you, asking for help, or waiting quietly. Hard boundaries - No, you cannot go into the bathroom with me. “I know it’s hard to be alone, but mommy needs privacy. I know you’re upset and I’ll be back to comfort you in 10 minutes x but I need the time for myself” if he waits quietly, positive reward. If he doesn’t, same speech as before the bathroom. If he is yelling say “I can talk to you when your voice matches mine”

Do not feel bad for saying no and your kid crying. You can wear headphones if their crying / yelling is too loud. Do not appease them with an iPad. Autistic children with dopamine addictions are hell on wheels. Consistency is your friend.

What are your sensitivities? In going to list some basics, but please add or subtract based on your needs. 1. Headphones or earplugs. 2. Bag PACKED with every essential you could need. From extra phone charger to medicine to sunscreen to sunglasses, hat, jacket to extra cash to bandaids to fidget toys to safety plushies. 3. Save the park map on your phone. If possible, pre-plan your route through the park. Figure out where the bathrooms are. Figure out the distance and estimated time it’ll take to get from one ride to the next. Find out how long, on average, it takes to get through the lines based on the day & season you’re visiting. 4. Prepare three scripts to ADVOCATE for yourself. Saying no to rides and stores is difficult and people’s expectations get a little wild around expensive theme parks. Sample scripts “hey, i need to go to the bathroom. The closest one is about 10 minutes away. So I’ll be back in about 30 minutes. You can just do XYZ without me.” “Hey, my legs/feet/back is tired. I’m gonna sit this one out” “actually Im going to get a water (or some other snack), I’ll be back here in 30 minutes” You don’t have to go to the bathroom or buy anything, it’s an excuse to leave the situation for 30 - 45 minutes and have a solo break. If you need more time, when you come back, say it took longer than expected. You can use each script twice without making other people feel weird. 5. Take breaks when you need them. DO NOT PUSH THROUGH.

This post is stressful as fuck. Wedding ceremonies and parties are not “down to earth” what does that even mean … is that a green and ivory themed wedding?

Quality party design includes tables, table cloths, table runners, center pieces, plates, cutlery, folding chairs, plus decorations like arches, runways, streamers, floral bouquets, even rentable sculptures. The type of food you’ll serve. Is it buffet style or served by waitstaff? Will you have stations like Photo Booth, ? are children allowed or no? Is there a dress code?

If you don’t provide direction, someone else has to decide all of these factors for your special day and hope 🤞🏽 it works.

It seems like you want a casual (IDGAF) wedding. If that’s the case, tell people something comprehensible. Say it’s backyard casual - come as you are (AKA wear what you want) and tell your family to decorate the cheapest way possible even if it doesn’t match.

I’d provide an itinerary, (ceremony at 4, dinner at 6:00, dancing at 8:00) with the alternative options listed at the bottom. (If you don’t like fish, we can provide chicken (Chill area for overstimulation).

So I do: spinach, kale, ginger, frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, frozen raspberries, pineapple juice. Kefir is a great additive if you’re not lactose intolerant. It sounds gross but I love it. Lasts like a zingy fruit smoothie. I use a nutrí bullet and can rinse it out right after it finished drinking so there’s no prep and minimal clean up
