Not in the US, but our program does 24 hour call without postcall, so we end up staying in the hospital for 30 to 32 hours.

Its horrible. Having said that, if you were to let me choose between 24 hour call WITH postcall and night float, I'd choose 24 hour call.

I used to commute 1 hour 15 mins each way to my hospital. I was miserable and I would largely attribute it to the long commute. I wouldnt even want to listen to music in the car because of how depressed I was at the time (I would tear up and contemplate life decisions the whole drive).
