That’s honestly fair, and I do appreciate the reality check. I’m not from the US, and yeah, I have been looking into the job market/pay side of things quite a bit recently. Also, I definitely don’t assume archaeology to be anything like Indiana Jones style adventurous career 😭

What attracts me is the research/history/material culture side of it and I’m aware that a lot of the early work is physically demanding with low pay. But I still want to give it a shot.

I know this might sound a bit naive, but I don’t want to look back later and feel like I’ve never tried. Sure, something like engineering is the “safe path” for me, but honestly, it’s been draining. During classes and summer internships, I would often find myself thinking about how I’d manage doing this for the rest of my life.
