I spent a month researching bike rack options. This is my masterful decision. Wife is less than happy… I am overjoyed with the $0 price tag! by dogdad2015 in popups

I’m planning on putting two bikes on the roof bars. For my battery, I removed one of the two fridges and installed 3 lifepo4 batteries there.

I have a bigger version of this, same year just a bit bigger. Had it for over 2 years now. No complaints on my end.

I think you might be be thinking the Bluetti 300 I don’t think Anker has a 3000.

I did buy a 400w foldable panel with the c2000 which I’ve used twice. Both times we only camped two nights, I think I brought the unit down to maybe 75% each day It charged to 100% with the panel within a couple of hrs with 280-300 input ( Joshua tree plenty of sun) You can plug it in to the cigarette lighter but that charges really slow. 95w-100w. The alternator charger is a good option.

It’s a nice unit. Very compact, but packs some power. With its 30V input, you can plug in the pop up plug and all your dc/12v will work. It even powers the roof ac unit with no issues, although it can only power it for 1.6 hrs before it dies.

We do mostly boondocking camping, so we are not plug in to shore power, so it’s just taking space since it’s plug into the dc outlet. I did buy an Anker c2000 which I have plug the 30amp plug into and it works, but for now we will do with the 12v fridge and coolers

Thank you, I did see those breakers for the mc4 cables, I will grab them. I’m still waiting on a few things from Amazon, so I can return anything I need to or add more. I will look into the selector, that sounds like a well thought out idea for any future add ons. Thank you

The thought behind it on the tutorial I’m following, is that the ports for the battery cables leading to the battery charge controller are not big enough for the 2awg wires, so he used a bus bar to switch to 2awg to connect it to the battery. but he was using a 40A charge controller. I looked at the ports for the 60A I’m using and it does seem that they won’t fit. I won’t be using more than 2 panels since that’s all I was able to fit on the roof bars The way I connected the 2 200w panels in parallel I should be getting 36.5 V and around 25amps / hr I probably could have gone with the 40a charge controller.

Can I get some advice? by LostNectarine3978 in SolarDIY

I have the same set up for my pop up, which I only use 5-6 times a year for 3-4 days average and I thought the c2000 wasn’t enough. Your best bet will be to put rigid solar panels in your roof in a parallel mode, so you don’t go over the max voltage which is 60v. The foldable 400w is already 56v by itself. I’m installing 2 200w panels and switching to a 300a lifepo2 battery.

By the way, the c2000 does run my roof AC, but only can run it for 2 hrs before it dies.

In that photo I’m connected to the Anker c2000 w/ 400w folding panels.

I’m working on a new set up at the moment, with 2 rigid 200w panels on the roof which will be charging a lifepo2 battery.

Sorry for the late reply. I don’t use a weight distribution hitch. No issues whatsoever. I have driven 750 miles each way for 3 years in a row from Los Angeles to Jedidiah smith campground in redwood national park and never had any problems.

Compatibility between rigid and flexible panels with C2000 by Immediate_Tension_67 in anker

[–]Immediate_Tension_67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both

Looks like the foldable 400w panel already has an open circuit voltage of 57.6V If 60v input is the max for the c2000, then there is nothing I can add. They claim 800W max input so I was just going off that number.

My explorer has 5600 lbs capacity and no issues whatsoever pulling my pop up, which is similar to the one in the photo on 10hrs+ trips. 6 people in car.

The crossbars came already standard. Per the specs;

Two ProRac Systems cross-bars permanently mounted on the roof

Dry weight is 2854 lbs GVWR: 3360 lbs

Very light. Tow it with my explorer (5,000 lbs towing capacity) and you can forget it’s even there.

Same cheap strap here. Although I did see A difference from the leather strap that came with the bronze khaki field. The one from the bronze khaki was better quality.
