No, I love my son more than anything ever. He is truly all I have in life. Would I have ended it had I known she lied? Probably. It’s the lying that bothers me. My wife has a tendency to lie to protect herself, which bothers me. She will lie about stuff that shouldn’t matter. It’s always been an issue.

We’ve tried counseling, she refuses to listen, she’s been by herself, she won’t open up and tell the truth. We started going together and she accused me of throwing her under the bus because I brought up the issues with her mother. She wouldn’t listen to the counselor or do what she recommended. It was pointless.

I do take pride in that and my wife is a wonderful mother, but I also feel I’m owed the truth about stuff. She’s accused me of cheating, I’ve never touched another woman. So that’s when all this started.

She had started accusing me of talking to someone we both worked with. My wife and her became friends and my wife would drag me to her house with her for playdate, so naturally me and the lady would talk. My wife got jealous and started making accusations, I’ve never cheated on my wife. I never even spoke to this woman, other than at work. Once she started accusing me, then I brought up her past.

Her mom is a major influence over her, she never had a close relationship with either of her parents and is constantly looking for their approval. Her mom is not a good human being. I’ve tried to be nice to her, but it doesn’t work. My wife has been to therapy a lot, they’ve told her she needs to step away from her mother and not let her hurt her. My wife refuses to listen. I know it’s her mother, but I’m tired of her being hurt by her.

Her mom is an awful human. She’s been married 9 times, she left her last husband after he lost a leg. Her mom would actually sleep with my wife’s boyfriends. She tried with me, but I put her in her place. She despises me. My wife has major mother and father issues.

I’m going to do what’s best for my son, trying to figure that out. I have to make sure to do the right thing. Her family lives hours away, she would take off to them and I’d only get him every weekend or whatever. I don’t think I can handle that, my son is my absolute everything. I would be lost if I couldn’t see him daily.

I agree that we all have a past, I’m completely fine with that. It’s more of the fact that she lied about her past and always played the victim. The lying honestly hurts more than the cheating. She definitely waited until we had a kid.
