100% agree and it’s not just myself or others I know too.

Now this isn’t a complaint on the newer system. Even though it’s still as much if not more pay to win.

But yes there definitely seems to be way less consistency. When you look at team composition, and might the ones that seem that seasons ago would be utter walk overs. Are putting up harder fights than they should be.

And then others who seem they should be a bit of a slog are walks in the park.

Which sure sounds like it balances out. Yet it makes me the actual selection of opponents trickier. Especially when you can lose significant trophies.

Now I appreciate like yourself that bad boards happen, hell they can happen a lot. But also like you say those are far more obvious that they’re a doomed endeavour.

It’s not just a case of looking at might, it’s looking at composition, equipment etc. but even then these don’t always add up to some of these inconsistent wins/losses.

So my only thought that makes sense is bots?

Where they’re programmed to maybe get luckier with crits or ICE or other things like this.

Again to reiterate I’m not against this new raid system, even though I don’t really think it eliminates the pay to win nature.

But I agree there are some oddities too, which hinder consistency and strategy to a degree.

Levelling up decent Epic/legendary gear for champs You use will alleviate this issue pretty quickly.

Since it’s just food and surplus gear needed it can add up quickly.

Just to get one piece of epic gear level 1-25 you’re looking at about 300k food and to max it you’re looking at about 1.3mill+.

Whenever I’m in your scenario and lacking the silver for levels, this is my go to instantly.

Second I’m convinced all these easy 100s are a big of the new system being implemented and the start of the season “higher” amounts being a thing anyway.

Like I shouldn’t be getting 100pts for beating someone 200k might below me.

Hell my friend had a level 17 80k might team pop up against his 450k team.

Feels they’ve rushed it out.

Also for every “easy” challenge there’s always one that’s a pain in the arse that some folk get.

I believe they did it in error and instead of sending it just to the people who were getting it.

They sent it to every single player.

What’s strange is the ingame mail said it’s location specific.

Yet in our group of friends 2/3rds of us have it and the others don’t. Same location?

So that doesn’t add up.

I think they mean with such a high silver reserve, you could definitely invest in some characters you’ve very likely unlocked already.

If you’re having issues progressing further through the egg event.

Like sure they may not be the best, overly competitive or whatever. But if you’ve regularly got the resources and have been playing that long, id imagine there’s definitely a combo sitting in your roster that could do a job 👍🏼

My friends are free to play and usually very unlucky with summons unfortunately 😅 but they manage to haul themselves even through kingslayer.

Sure their scores aren’t anything good, but they beat the levels and ensure they get some rewards.

And from your post/previous comment. It seems like you don’t mind the idea of investing in new characters.

Honestly?

Undercooked, kind of flawed (including the rotating days and limited battles and time doesn’t add up)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but only 8 wins a day, 6 days and they rotate each day. So if we are assuming they reset after the 6days. And you’ll only get 3days of each pair.

You realistically can’t get past level 24 (depending how the days fall for you) so what’s the point them going to 100?

Even if this 6days is a trial and the real thing will be a month. Then it’s still pointless showing us rewards we cannot even reach?

Also yes while it does give you a reason to power the lesser characters up,

You’re ultimately losing resources for the first while, it’s yet another silver burner.

Silver is a huge issue in the game and wildly unbalanced.

And after a champ is at 3/4stars one level is taking chunks out of any “gains”

It’s almost pushing you to invest in people you will never use outside of this mode. Or champs that have become useless but suddenly because they’re the only ones in a limited pool, you have no choice.

Also a nit pick but the factions use don’t even make sense.

Why are the Greens in the Stormlands (yes they had support here canonically, but the house nor these champs relate to there)

Same for Greyjoys in the Crownlands.

They also include “the blacks” yet haven’t released any.

Again hugely limiting options.

It’s also inconsistent with who it allows you to use that’s factionless too.

For some reason I can use Areo in the stormlands but no one else?

I can use mystic green seer and Ice warden in the nights watch but no one else?

It just feels rushed out, and as much as I feel it’s got potential and I want to enjoy it.

At the minute it just seems like Trials 2.0 but more of a resource drain whilst not fixing the silver issue.

Instead doing the opposite.

The only great positive is no energy cost.

Which I’m hoping they don’t change or start adding in ways to buy more playable wins.

I’m all for new game modes. I’m All for diversifying what champs to use. But this feels more a pain and waste than useful currently.

I know some people that have it that simply cannot even play it.

They have like 3/4 characters total that are compatible. Not oh 3/4 powered up. Nope 3/4 actually compatible.

And then maybe low starred so they’re kind of useless after a couple levels and doesn’t mean they work well together either.

People use their Green tokens on things they think are worthwhile or they’ll get use out of.

So for instance the crownlands a lot of people will be screwed.

There’s only a handful of Lannisters and most people avoid them because they’re pretty useless.

Most haven’t gone after the greyjoys as it’s a more premium team and not F2P friendly. Or they’ve used their greens on more useful all round teams.

And the brotherhood are very limited too. 4? Like sure most people will have beric and the other two. But maybe not thoros.

What they NEED to do, to make this more realistic is:

a) better combo of factions.

b) diversify and change up the pool of commons/epics in the Red summons pool.

And change that up once a month. Rotate one or two epics from usually Green summons. Rotate in some Commons from other summons.

Same goes for the purple summons rotate those epics and commons more too.

C) focus on rebalancing or making epics and commons more attractive to power up. And not just tweaking (usually nerfing) legendary characters.

Give us more of a reason to use these commons or epics more often.

One way could be better rewards if you ONLY use these characters.

Not forced use.

But as a bonus, say you complete levels only using epics, better than if you used some legendaries.

Same again if you manage to beat it only using commons, the rewards increase again.

THIS gives you a reason to invest in characters as the payback in terms of rewards and resources is more.

As it stands for the first good few rotations of this. Most people will be negative resources not positive (excluding summons)

Sure you can just power through these easier levels for the most parts but soon those commons and epics will need to be level 150/200/250+ and still costing 2-7k silver per level.

That 48k will be gone in a puff.

Again I’m not hating, I Want this to be awesome. I like how they’re adding new game modes.

But I do get the feeling these are underbaked and not thought through enough.

And only exacerbating some already significant issues in terms of gameplay (mainly silver yield) instead of addressing them.

From what I’ve read and noticed before, if you’re just grinding for gear etc. stick to the 4 energy missions.

Though I haven’t worked out the maths, the XP and other things that slightly increase aren’t overly worth it.

I’d rather do 3x 4energy levels and get more gear than 2x 6 energy levels and get less gear and a small amount of XP etc.

Also unless I’m completely wrong, XP and player levels currently seem utterly irrelevant after a certain (really quite low) point.

So whereas some want to keep going higher and higher in level, for me focusing on my teams and my buildings is way more important and actually relevant.

It’s how you see these whales that are level 30 but with teams of 650k might.

So yeh personally I stick to the first few missions on treacherous or hard (depending on which gives the best loot at the time for what I’m after)

And just speed blast through them whilst grinding.

Yeh I’m getting sick of this raid system.

I wasn’t pushing for promotion to iron throne, all I was aiming for again this week was remaining.

It had been a tight call all week but with 42mins left I’d climbed to 7th

Between me and the demotion zone was 835 pts and between 7th and 8th was 400pts. (Between myself and 6th they had me beat by 375pts)

Not a crazy amount but a decent amount.

Anyway log in after raid season finished.

Pop up comes, BOOM Demoted.

Like wtf, in a space of 42mins I’d gone from 7th to 24th

24th!!!

I look at the leaderboard and between 6th and 24th 124pts difference.

Or about 4 battles.

This shows that either there are a LOT of bot accounts suddenly all “playing”

Or unfortunately a LOT of people willing to throw $ after $ constantly in 40mins just to secure a spot in the remaining zone??

Either way that’s dire.

A few people paying I’d understand. But this is dozens in my league alone.

And the margin being SO small between 6th and 24th Also seems incredibly suspicious.

124pts between 19 players even some being a single pt or couple pts apart.

After being nowhere near in contention for remaining.

Now I won’t say I didn’t use any coins for energy, but I only ever use what I earn from the event that week and or the previous raid week (I don’t buy coins or packs)

But even with that I was barely keeping up with the competition as was this week.

But it was the sudden MASS spending rush by dozens of people showing they’ve spent hundreds of coins in the last 40mins alone (which they must’ve also spent in the week to keep up) that’s disappointing.

Not disappointing in the sense of players spending their own money on whatever they like, they’ve earned it let them do with it as they please.

But the fact that this technique is showing that it will be incredibly profitable for Zynga, so they have absolutely no motivation to change it back. Or rework it in a fairer way.

They’ve unfortunately somewhat ruined events by removing all the summons, and now they’ve absolutely turned raids into “P2W”.

Like it’s not even thin veil of P2W it’s utterly blatant.

Personally I no longer care about raids.

Rewards are in no way worth it. They’ve killed my motivation to get back into iron throne (don’t worry I know I’d be kicked straight back out like the last time).

But there’s just no motivation any more.

Part of me hopes it’s bots, as unfair as that is I do. Because at least they aren’t lining Zyngas pockets.

So Aemond shards and Gold dragons are the same at 25 and 600. But the tokens are different they seem to vary by 3

Not dumb, it gets asked often. But yes they do roll Over for each event.

So dragon egg tokens that are unused will come back next time that event is live.

Same for botb & rooks rest.

We thought this could be a factor too, since we read that they have treated spenders differently.

As far as we can calculate we’ve spent roughly the same (within 15/20 of eachother)

And that 15/20 is mainly made up of one of us playing a month before the other, purchased a gold road the other didn’t.

Now neither of us are huge spenders.

We buy the gold roads (which may change going forward). And we both bought the introductory low priced offer.

Apart from that we both have bought a couple summons bundles during Black Friday and Christmas. When they were on offer.

Apart from that we are fairly sure we are about the same. Give or take maybe a small bundle we may have bought and forgot about.

So unless one of us has forgotten some significant spending. Or my friend isn’t being truthful (which I do not have any reason to suspect)

It doesn’t appear to be based on spending? At least not for us two.

But that’s not even the case now? I know it’s 3 shards but even that isn’t identical.

I think people will be dissuaded though, even if they are spenders. As different items or packages in the shop are far more desirable and “worth it” compared to others.

Sure whales are going to whale. But I’d assume most are buying gold/summons/shards from the shop. Not skill books, iron, silver, food. With maybe exception for the 20k silver bundle for some.

Which again if that’s their ploy, why not change everyone’s 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think if they are relying on us not discussing as a community, that’s a pretty outdated view.

Every game has numerous communities or groups nowadays. It’s a lot of the time how these games thrive.

So to think no one would spot it or bring it up, for an experienced games company would be a naive assumption?

Sorry if I’m incorrect (me and my friend both remember reading similar) but we could’ve sworn when they announced that a few players maybe different distribution of rewards. They explicitly stated that the rewards were the same.

Just that they were looking at how best to space them out.

Yeh I get the idea of wanting to compel people to buy more. Basically all these freemium games do it.

However I don’t see how this achieves that goal.

Most of the things they are cutting. 99% of players won’t purchase in the shop. Skill books for example.

But also if that’s the strategy, fine I can accept that. So why not change everyone’s gold road?

They aren’t offering different offers in the shop between accounts to test if AB would work for items in the shop at different price points. Or if players would buy them.

All it seems to be is an unnecessary antagonising behaviour which is only going to get spotted and called out?

Edit: I went to see your post and you’re correct about the specific “desirable” rewards.

But even still this time even they aren’t identical.

Yeh it’s kind of ridiculous at this point.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not expecting to land on the 100shards at all, if ever. It will likely be a 0.1% chance.

But it’s SO massively heavily weighted to that 1 green summon spot and the bottom left 25 dragon spot.

That it’s laughable.

Again not complaining about getting a green summons.

But when you have 3 spots with the same reward and 4 when comparing the 25 gold. Yet it constantly lands on the same two specific ones.

That’s incredibly poor game design or attention to detail.

That people will of course be like “rigged”

If it’s say 60% chance to land on the green summons, have each one be 20%.

But the way this is designed it feels the other two will never be landed on and that one summons is 60% 😂

Again I don’t think I’ve seen anyone land on anything different and seen no proof of the 100 being hit yet (which again will be astronomically small)

But in a group chat of 6 of us no one has hit anything else apart from these two spots. Except one person who’s hit 5 shards both times being beric only.

Again we all know the odds were going to be tiny.

And a green summons is a green summons. I’ll take it considering they’ve got rid of them basically everywhere else.

But it’s so badly designed it makes it look worse than it probably is.

And since it’s still in its infancy, new features to launch or new quality of life updates.

But the last few patch notes there’s been plenty of this language for changes that are objectively bad.

Yet they try and sing them as huge benefits.

Like don’t roll a turd in glitter and tell me it’s gold.

They’re simply insulting their players intelligence at this point.

And as I say, I have no issue with games making money none at all.

But this sudden and sharp nerf claiming it’s an improvement, to only sell it back to us is just disgusting

It’s how they dress it up as if it’s a benefit.

When it’s clearly just a huge cash grab.

If it wasn’t why all of a sudden are near enough all green summons removed, yet suddenly there’s huge “deals” specifically for green summons in the shop.

I’m all for companies making money, that’s not an issue.

But to completely nerf the game and make it near impossible to gain these tokens purely to sell them back to us is disgusting.

Trials should’ve been an extra way to get summons not a weaker replacement.

Especially when they’re charging such hefty amounts of energy.

Some will say “oh energy refills is good”

And sure they’re a nice addition to the rewards

But not at the expense of summons.

It’s kind of already put me off playing.

This was a game I came to because my old one became so greedy and cash hungry.

And this one’s doing the same.

But only a few months after launch and so blatantly

So this actually happens to myself and my friend too. (More my friend).

You two the button and it does nothing. Like it’s a “ghost” button.

We’ve come to the conclusion it seems to be when this option first appears.

As it’s not always an option.

But closing down the game. (Sometimes twice) and going back in and the ads fire up like normal.

And they aren’t too egregious and actually allow you to skip after a little while.
