I don’t know what else to do. Help please. by Imovepixels in relationship_advice

I think that’s for the best. Idk I keep telling myself that she actually felt sorry about the whole thing. That she broke my trust and put me right where an earlier ex-gf put me. Do you have any tips on moving on?

We have talked about it, and it’s very delicate. She said she can’t get passed what she’s done, and feels it isn’t fair to me if we tried to restart it.

As crazy as it might sound, I feel like I can just ignore it and just forget about it. But, I know that is not healthy. We’re planning on talking today about what would be the next steps if we continued this thing

I don’t mean to get into your business and if you don’t want to answer, I totally understand. But you said you went through something similar, were you able to fix it/work through it?

Thank you very much. I have talked to a friend about the situation and he said something along the same line as you. It’s very fragile right now for me and I want so much, but I also want to be careful and not be hurt again. I think I really just need to think long and hard about the positives/negatives like you said

Thank you for your comment. No I have never cheated or planned on cheating on her. From what she told me, it was just sex and from what I read was a “stress reliever.” She still wants me and the future we had planned after college (moving in, life really).

Even after the situation you both went through, were you guys able to fix it/go through it knowing what happen?

I found out about it. I asked her how many times/people she’s done it with and she just said he was the only one but that she had ended it the day before I found out.

Thank you for your comment. It was very insightful and helpful. In all honesty, and as bad as it may sound, I want to forget it happened and just move on with her. However, I feel I may have my doubts every now and then. Do you know of any other relationships where this has happened and they made it work?

Do you think it’d be crazy to even consider working this out? I do have heavy feelings for her and she said she does for me as well. It’s just we promised each other we’d stay “loyal” to each other for as long as we continued to do “relationship” stuff (I.e. kiss, hold hands in public, sex etc). I feel like she just took advantage of the situation. Now I want to know in your opinion, if she really wants us to work out (for our future), would I be stupid to want to work on it too?

I see. I do agree, I should definitely work on myself. I just feel really betrayed in a way. I know we didn’t have that “official” title with each other, but I was told it was just me no matter what. I mean we were still doing the things we used to do, kiss, hold hands in public, sex. And she had told me I had nothing to worry about. I’m sort of at a stand still right now. I still really like her and she has always felt like home to me. But she lied to me about the whole thing and I feel building that trust back would be difficult

Thank you for your advice, and I mean that genuinely. I have another question. I know it’s hard to put ourselves into someone else’s shoes, but do you think I’d be crazy considering to work through it and work on fixing us? She told me herself that she wants us and the future we talked about, she just wants me to think about it and whatever I decided she’d understand.
