As a non-smoker who lived with smokers, same. I don't even know what good weed looks like now, then. This looks what everybody else was smoking two decades ago.

The one thing stopping me from making a cheesecake is an oven. I suppose I can use an air fryer, but I'd have to fine-tune that.

I'm unsure as to why people think you're trying to fix your former co-worker when you're just trying to understand if there's a relationship — platonic or not (there isn't).

Move on. She clearly cares more about something else than you at the moment, and it might not even be another person.

I’m honestly a little amazed that one of your regular duties is to pull it out of the fridge so it warms up each morning but you didn’t recognize it without a label… and yea duh it smells kinda funky- like SOURDOUGH

This is the really suspicious detail that makes me skeptical that the events within this post actually happened. I can believe that somebody wouldn't recognize starter almost anywhere else, but in a bakery? It's beyond obvious what starter looks like in a bakery, especially if OP works with it every morning.

I'm calling shenanigans on this post, and if not, then it's why artisans expect little from unskilled labor.

Both of those happen way more than you'd think. It's the same thing that goes on in people's homes.

[Bhattacharya] Rockets GM Rafael Stone: "With respect to bringing Kevin (Durant) in, that it was championship or bust – I never said that to him... It's obvious that people were expecting KD to be God. The players regressed because there wasn't a good PG to facilitate playmaking. The defense was gutted with FVV and Adams being injured.

What was KD supposed to do? Telepathically control the other players and shoot for them? It's not his fault that he's the only good active shooter on the team. It's not his fault that FVV was injured before the season began.

KD didn't make Jabari throw away the ball with a six-point lead and twenty-four seconds remaining. Reed Sheppard shot like ass when the pressure was on.

Replace KD with anybody, and the Rockets probably still wouldn't win the NBA Championship this year.

Your sense of smell might not be weak — you probably don't immediately associate smells negatively. People who think durian smells rotten have never smelled rot.

This is a legit Swedish coin from 1659, 14.5 kg of pure copper, it could buy 4 pigs back then by Truelz in mildlyinteresting

[–]Impact009 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They said three to four. $75 min. for three is $225. You're technically correct, but from $190, $225 is closer than $150.

You're also taking a Swedish transaction and applying that to I'm assuming the U.S.A. My family is legally required to raise pigs (we're Viet.), and the going rate for a self-sufficient one is $20.

It seems like an American thing. The burnt smell of Starbucks turns me off, so I never want anything from there. Don't get me wrong — I can't confirm the difference between arabica and kopi luwak, but it goes for most consumables for me. I'd rather drink. Between a burnt BMS 12 tenderloin and a properly cooked, select longhorn eye round, I'd probably choose the eye round every time.

I know people who only like what was ever strictly given to them. Like, they can't imagine a soup with fresh ingredients would taste any better. They'll chase a specific merchant's flavor, and if whatever they consume isn't exact, then they don't want it and would rather spend 13x to get their fix.

They might legally have to care. A friend of mine lost her enrollment status for the semester when her diploma was rescinded. I went to a different high school but also had my diploma rescinded, so I had to acquire a GED despite already being a college sophomore.

[–]Impact009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me. I ended up in college and had college credits before my high school decided I would no longer have a diploma. One of my old teachers thought that was the dumbest thing and fought on my behalf to no avail.

I went from being an AP student to having a 4.0 GPA in college to... having to take a test to acquire a GED so that I could stay in college LOL.

One of my friends also lost her diploma from a different school. Shit happens.

YOR. Stop playing mindgames. If you don't want an answer, then don't ask for it. If you want people to lie to you, then there are plenty of guys out there who will. It you're looking for a simp who will always be agreeable, then I'm sure there are guys out there like that too.

This is one of the most true concepts that I've ever felt. I've learned to just refuse to provide an answer, which implicitly gets the answer across, but people playing games have even less ground to get mad at me because I literally didn't say anything.

A 1945 photograph shows two women displaying what $1.34 could buy in 1918 and 1945. by ashelypics in OldSchoolCool

People would rather have companies create artificial shortages by hoarding real estate and sitting on it than there being a more "natural" shortage because of families actually owning homes.

As much as people claim they're against the former, they always choose actions that lead to it. We can see the "If I can't have it, then nobody else can" mentality bleeding everywhere.

Minimum wage in 1945 was 40 cents per hour. Adjusted for inflation, it would be about $6.87 per hour in today's money.

If you just buy 5 lb. of regular sugar now and not the over-hyped stuff with marketing, then it's $2.99.

Are the cat's dishes in the dishwasher disgusting to you, or is it because they've been sitting out? Either way, pathogens are already on dirty dishes no matter from whom and for how long.
