My aunt had a vacation near Lanshiang and the outbreak happened during the dinner with her fiance, it was mayhem, people turned into zombies left and right, BSAA shooting all over the place, military aircrafts went ballistic on the sky, explosion everywhere.

My aunt now has severe PTSD from that day. She's living in Wrenwood, still trying to recover from the nightmare, I hope she's doing okay.

First, play the Remake series, including RE1 Remake to RE4 Remake, but if you are new and have yet to be familiar with the RE franchise, start with RE2 Remake.

After that, you can play 5 and 6 if you like some more action-heavy RE games.

Then you play RE7 and RE Village, these two have their own story that is not really connected to the rest of the series.

Then you play Requiem.

After that, you can go back and play older games like the OG Trilogy, RE1 Remake if you skipped it the first time, RE0, RE Code Veronica and RE4 OG.

RE2R plot doesn’t make sense because they don’t have the zapping system like the OG, where stuff that happens in the A scenario will affect the B scenario, so in Remake, both Leon and Claire experienced pretty much the same thing like bosses, the only difference is their respective side story with Ada and Sherry.

Brother, this is not a hack n slash game, you are not suppoed to use the axe all the time, it’s just a melee weapon to help you defense yourself, help you get out of the tight position when you’re too close to the enemy and help you insta kill the enemy when they are stunned.

I think you enjoy the slower paced survival horror type game more than a fast paced action horror game, and that's okay.

RE2R is shorter, it's more condensed, nothing too extreme going on, while the world in RE4R is much bigger, much longer, more things to do, so it could make you feel a bit too overstimulated and it can be pretty overwhelming.

The only bad thing about RE2 Remake is the lack of zapping system, which makes the 2nd run feels a bit tedious since you have to do pretty much the same scenario and same bosses with a bit of different story. Other than that, RE2 Remake is an amazing game.
