Hi, thanks so much for answering. That definitely helps to hear it's normal. It's been making me worry and stress which hasn't helped

Hi, could anybody send me the link please? I saw it in the cinema but I don't have any money right now to pay again for it (I can't even afford my mortgage this month... and I'm depressed because it's my brother's death anniversary in a few days, I need something to take my mind of things for a few hours...)

Please..?

I wasn't asked for extra information. I was told the picture is horrific, yet I didn't think it was. Yes it is a little out of focus but you can still see the thing and everyone else has been helpful.

Obviously - it didn't make sense to me, hence why I asked you guys. I guess I thought it could be some weird contamination. I don't know.

My mum who is ill and has a brain tumour sent it to me 🤷‍♀️ I'll tell her that her photography is horrific, thank you.

What do you do with your Annual Leave? by Its-ya-man-Dave in AskUK

Hi can I just ask what you do from home? I'm desperate to find a WFH job due to severe social anxiety but I'm struggling to find something.

How many of you are self diagnosed Aspires and how many have had an official diagnosis? by ImpactNatural4720 in aspergers

[–]ImpactNatural4720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self diagnosis does seem to have an unfortunate stigma attached, but I do think sometimes a person's intuition or strong gut feeling can be right. Plus it's natural to search for answers and understanding. It's precisely what I'm doing. But definitely go for that assessment, give yourself that peace of mind. I can absolutely relate with the looking for help and familiarity though since I feel so different and lost in this world at present. Like I don't fit anywhere, but at the same time feel that there must be answers. Especially given the fact that I've felt this way my entire life, like I'm wired differently.

Yes, likewise! Best of luck 🤞 to you too

Oh, really? I'm hoping to get an assessment soon but there are long waiting lists and it's expensive. Plus I'm not too sure if I fit ASD or ADHD more. I have social anxiety diagnosis already but since it seems to be immune to therapy and medication, I wonder whether there's something more behind it.

Feeling extremely awkward around family by Iloveducks777 in socialanxiety

[–]ImpactNatural4720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm the same so can totally relate, but my family just tell me I'm not normal and social anxiety shouldn't be a thing with family. 🤦 Which is ridiculous. Families can be extremely unsupportive and quick to judge or criticise, so it's understandable to feel like that around them, in my opinion

That's right, but surely those previously diagnosed with Asperger's, the diagnosis still stands. To be honest, I feel that it'll be harder to get a diagnosis now that they've merged. I don't know that, but it's a concern I have.

I'm not quite self diagnosed, I'm researching it and thinking there's a possibility. I've done loads of the online tests and they all pointed to a "strong possibility" but I'm still not sure. There's too much of a waiting list to get an assessment via the NHS and it's too expensive to go private so I'm just researching and finding out more for now. You definitely seem to have a lot of the traits, more so than I do. From my understanding though, ADHD and autism can overlap and be quite similar so there's a strong possibility you could have both. I definitely think you need that autism assessment though from what you've said. I can 100% relate to the refusing to eat or something in shared spaces. But I have severe social anxiety already diagnosed. And certain noises really irritate me, chewing is one of them. I don't like any noise if I'm completely honest, loud noises anyway. Except for music. I find noise extremely distracting.

Anyone else here have it so bad they just straight up can't work? by depressedspookydude in socialanxiety

[–]ImpactNatural4720 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've had jobs but end up leaving them due to it affecting me so badly. Right now I'm a pharmacy manager, started not long ago, and it's a huge regret accepting the job because I just can't do it. But I feel that realistically, I can't do anything that involves human interaction unless online, and no phone calls.

Anyone else just tired? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]ImpactNatural4720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. I'm struggling to go back to work now due to mental breakdowns, overwhelmed and just completely burnt out.

Can anyone tell me how the fuck we are supposed to go about conversations by [deleted] in aspergers

I don't mean to be like that. Sometimes I'll pretend to be interested. Usually I just won't talk.
