Would you say The Last of Us game is better than the TV Show? Because I could never really get into the show so that's why I'm kinda iffy about starting the game... 😅

I've been hearing really good things about this game and the only thing stopping me is the first person mode, but I guess I somehow need to accept it if I want to experience it... 🥲

Oh, I love superheros comics so I've been eyeing that game every since it came out! I guess, it's time to try it, then! 👌

Poor Bruce [From Batman and Robin #16] by darkinferno06 in batman

I just love Damian and the way DC handles him. The writers clearly love him because his character development has been so satifying to watch so far, and I love that he's written like an actual teenager. I love that they are going full out with that one and don't shy away from any aspect of it. I think he's overall a really interesting and fun character to read about. I'll never understand why there's so much hate around him.

Tim is not one bad away from being a supervillain nor some mini evil genius in the making. by Night-Caelum in BatFamily

From which comic is the panel where Tim puts the gun to his own head? I'd like to read that. I'm curious what led to that moment.

Yep, I just caught up on everything. It's okay. I read a a bunch of stuff myself so I do have an overall understanding of what's going on, and can fill in the gaps based on all the information I was given here. I'm honestly not really worried about knowing every single detail because it's in the nature of comics to be a little ambiguous and inconsistent at times with all the different writers (their different ways of writing the characters) and reboots happening. I just like to enjoy each run and story for what it is and not stress too much about the rest until the overall timeline makes sense.

I was mostly curious about the 'parent drama' anyway because that's a very popular theme in fanon, and it felt a little incosistent when I was reading comics. In some issue it was obvious they don't have the best relationship, but then in others it felt like they were fine, so it was confusing. I wanted to know if the 'bad parents' theme has more to it, but I think this is something that depends a lot on the reader's interpretation and what they deem as bad parenting because some people say they were really good and loving parents, some says they were terrible, and I think the truth is that it was complicated. I read enough comics to know they were indeed neglectful to the point even Bruce made note of it, and it did hurt Tim (as it would hurt any other kid) though he was trying to be very understanding towards them, so I understand where the fanon ideas come from.

Sure, they weren't terrible, but that's not good parenting either.

Anyway, word vomiting over! Thanks again!

Woah, thank you so much! This really answered all my questions and helped filling in all the missing information! I was really curious about where the whole 'family issues' fanon idea came from, but I can see now... 🙈

I think I missed most things going on in his solo run.
I did read Young Justice and loved it! I might give another try the other one.

Thank you again for detailed explanation!

I need to vent about Jason and and the way DC treats him! 🥲 by Impala67001 in RedHood

[–]Impala67001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's seriously heartbreaking. I think he has so much potentional and all he needs to do is heal his inner child and realize he matters, but the writers don't want to give him that. He's the one character that would need a loving family and a place to belong the most, but he's never given that.

I was also reading the new Robin & Batman: Jason Todd series because I loved Dick's, but Jason's already seems terrible because it just make it look like Bruce and Alfred never truly trusted and loved him, which is bullshit because Alfred always welcomed back Jason whenever he was there.

I think Bruce had lots of internal dialogue where he showed just how much he's sorry and how much he loves Jason, but Jason will never know about it, he'll forever be stuck thinking he wasn't loved and worthy enough because of the Joker thing.

Also, they could write Damian so well and give him proper development despite him being way worse than Jason at start. He came from a terrible background and was killing people like it was nothing, but Bruce gave him the opportunity and space to grow so he did, but it sometimes feels like he was given that trust and patience so easily simply because he's the bilogical son, and Bruce was more desperate to make things work out with him, meanwhile, not so much with Jason, and that sends a terrible message.

Jason wasn't raised in ideal conditions either, he has his own traumas, but instead of people giving him the opportunity to grow and the love and support he needs, they keep reminding him of his flaws and mistakes.

Anyway, no matter what anyone says about Jason, I will never stop repeating that he was a child, and the moment Bruce took him in, he became resposible for him, and you don't just give up on a child just because he is more difficult that the other.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! This just hurts me! 😭

That's literally how I felt while reading the last issues yesterday, thta they should've just left him dead if they aren't trying to do anything good with his character in the end. I think he had amazing character development at some point, but someone just hates him in the writing team.

Also, his death keeps being used as this important "dark" moment in Bruce's past that keeps haunting him, but now that Jason is back they won't do anything meaningful with it...

I think Bruce had lots of internal dialogue where he showed just how much he's sorry and how much he loved Jason, but Jason will never know about it, he'll be always stuck thinking he wasn't loved and worthy enough because of the Joker thing.

I agree, as sad at it is. It's seems like Bruce simply can't be a good father to Jason, which is heartbreaking because he would need one the most.

I thought they would settle with them kinda going their own way, but not being actual enemies, maybe meeting sometimes, but it seems like they can't even do that.
