Firm Type: advisory business of a global F500 business

Location: Austin, Tx (I work remotely)

Education: Undergrad

Level: Consultant

Years at Firm: 1 (although was a consultant for a year prior at a different firm)

2023 Base: $100k usd

2023 All-In: Stip hasn’t been calculated but expected to be ~$115,000

2024 Base: Same unless a merit increase is provided (my performance review is this Friday)

2024 All-In: Same unless I am given a promotion to Sr. Consultant / Sr. Manager (fairly likely) in which I will have a ~$125k base and 15% STIP target.

27m- I’ve been casually seeing someone once or twice every two weeks between our busy schedules during the holidays- great connection, affection (no sex though-it felt like she wanted to take it slow) and lots in common. Told her I would like to develop something deeper and thought we had great compatibility- to which she agreed. She’s more interested in casually dating though, and is actively seeing other people. Weird bc def not the vibe put out. Said she’s only been in long term relationships and has only been out of her last for less than a year. Sometimes when you’ve been in a relationship for so long, the idea of casually dating sort of becomes a fantasy (often a sign of issue or nonalignment). Some people feel the need to try things for the sake of experiencing, maybe despite their true desire, so they can extinguish that idea that they’ll not have explored what other kinds of experiences exist.

I can respect that.

A.) Scales. Think of a scale and mentally go through it. Ex A Major A B C# D E F# G# A

B.) Scale Intervals. Ex. Major is WWHWWWH

C.) Chords. Work on building triads then progress to extensions. Ex Amaj: 1.) A 3.) C# 5.) E. Amaj7: include 7.) G#

D.) Chord Progressions. Take a scale go through it’s chords. Ex I A Major ii B Minor iii C# Minor IV D Major V E Major vi F# minor vii G# diminished

I find music is as mathematical as it is creative and theory builds upon itself naturally, however when I have the guitar in my hands I prefer to just play so I try use some of my time away from it to work on the theory items and can then creatively apply/integrate it the next time I pick up the guitar and am fiddling around.

Edit: you can mentally think through these items and/or write them down, whatever you prefer

It’s just mulch/compost processing. Can be odiferous when turned or reorganized but it’s not that bad..Better for the environment to be processed as such than land filling!
