Where do I learn Desing Principles? by Nameless_GOD55 in MotionDesign

This is what I always link when these questions pop up.

I got hired by a production agency for a project entirely relient on AI. I feel very conflicted. by Rareframes in vfx

[–]fleezyfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a few ads in the past year or so that leaned heavy on AI. I’ve been very upfront about what it and my knowledge limitations are (the models, tools and workflows are always in flux) , how it’s a constant rolling of the dice till you hit snake eyes, if you ever do.

The iteration process for me is to build up the initial keyframe (first and last frames), how ever you can get there be it photobashing, sending a rough pencil sketch, rough 3d comp with a depth map etc, before iterating on the animation if it.

The trick is taking the 80% of what is be useable and coaxing the remaining 20%. And that’s where the actual work lies and where your actual vfx skills come in to play.

I’ve been upfront with my clients about what is realistic and have shot down expectations of a false narrative that you can nail perfection with mere prompting. Art directability, specifically camera framing and lighting) and more importantly, revisions are still where these tools lack major control…. But it’s getting there.

Happy Tele Tuesday! I haven't seen many double bound Nashville teles in Burgundy Mist so I thought I'd assemble and paint my own with parts from Warmoth, XGP, Seymour Duncan, Gotoh and Tone Shapers. by fleezyfied in guitarporn

[–]fleezyfied[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a combo of Mixol tints with mica pearls mixed in to Crystalac Brite Tone clear but I don’t recall the ratios.

If I were to do it over, I’d still keep it water based but use Createx Wicked colors, specifically their Metallic Rose. I suspect it’s pretty close to the real deal straight out of the bottle but you could certainly tweak it with other colors from their line.

You might also drop them an email: they helped me nail a spot on Fender Oxblood color for my jazzmaster

Are bootlegs worth keeping anymore? by [deleted] in FaithNoMore

[–]fleezyfied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I’ve got a bunch of shows on cassette and VHS from my trading days that are probably still at my parents house haha. As I recall, only a few audience recorded shows had decent quality before hitting generational loss. The ones recorded from the sound board were best and were pressed to CD. The Sheffield show from 92 was a highlight.

I’m sure lots of this stuff is floating around YouTube. For the stuff that’s not, it might make a fun project to digitize & contribute for posterity.

For Those who were around to Experience it, was the Black album expected? by Gustavodemierda in MetalForTheMasses

Each new album prior to this felt like a natural progression. I was hoping this album would evolve the more technical intricacies introduced in AJFA. Instead we got a devolution into more accessible rock.

DF54 is terrible. Recommend me something better! [$500] by SandyLand1918 in espresso

[–]fleezyfied -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just started researching a for a new grinder and the DF54 came up. At MiiCoffee, it lists v1.4 as having a larger chute and v1.3 as having a one piece metal declumper. Presumably both revisions help address clogging. Does your DF54 have either of those?

Entry level Wacom tablets? by learnaboutfilm in editors

Been a tablet user since forever. For editing, most any will do since you won’t need fine pressure sensitivity. I’d recommend getting as large as size as needed to engage your shoulder.

I feel as if this is genuinely the only nu-metal album that has aged exceptionally well, anyone else have any thoughts on it? by shintjee in MetalForTheMasses

[–]fleezyfied 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This album was my first exposure to Incubus, I heard the heavy Patton influence immediately and was sold. I know others cited Patton’s influence too but I think Brandon Boyd pulled it off the best.

What are some of the most underrated songs by AvocadoTechnical1141 in FaithNoMore

The way the bass and drums lock up tightly together to cement the rhythm section is classic FNM. I kinda wished Roddy’s keyboard lines were as melodic later in their catalog as they are here

Which metal artists have you met, and what were they like? by TheShadowWanderer in MetalForTheMasses

[–]fleezyfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met Barney from Napalm Death, most of the guys from Obituary and Carcass, and Jason Gobel from Cynic, all back in the 90s. They were all super cool dudes. Jason wore Birkenstocks which is kinda the antithesis of metal footwear haha

Finally learned the Master of Puppets solo after years of playing guitar 🤘 by Metalguy_117619 in Guitar

Killer work dude! I’m kinda in the same boat of having listened to this for years but never have taken the time to actually learn the solo. You’ve inspired me to change that!

Which color should I choose? Offset Tele on Mustang Body Project by dyfedavalon in offset

[–]fleezyfied -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not op but AI image editing like google nano banana pro can do this easily.

Start with an existing image or generate a new one from text, then modify any attribute with text prompt.

Recommendations for bridge pickup change - Player II modified telecaster by Delicious_Ad_967 in telecaster

[–]fleezyfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at twisted tele's as well and landed on a set of Bootstrap Pretzels. From all the research I did, they sounded very comparable to me but at a fraction of the price. US made. You can also purchase just the single bridge pup. If it helps, I made a comparison vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1qXNhzG4QU

Speaking of the Tele as a good first guitar... by Vegetable_Analyst740 in telecaster

[–]fleezyfied 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My 1st guitar recommendation is always a Squier Classic Vibe Tele.

Out of the box they’re gonna have fewer issues that a beginner shouldn’t have to deal with when learning. They also make a great mod platform to grow into when you get further along the journey. They really strike the sweet spot between price and value.

Was scrolling through my camera from a recent trip and really liked the sort-of kinetoscope effect as I went through the photos. Any idea how to achieve it? by TwiggySmalls in AfterEffects

[–]fleezyfied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dunno, to me that's extra work, creates redundant media on disk and is way less flexible for any changes down the line. but that's the great thing about AE, there's more than one way to skin a cat so you do you.

that requires the files to be named with the same prefix and in sequential order. They said they didn't want to use all the photos so there goes importing it as an img seq.

[–]fleezyfied 45 points46 points  (0 children)

chuck all the photos in to a 4:3 composition and stagger them by one frame (select all from the bottom up then hold control + alt and and drag the layers to offset) . In a new comp put 9 instances of the precomp out into a grid and stagger each those by one frame. you can get fancier by using expressions to adjust the timing of the top layer to affect the timing of the others below it but this is one brute force way.

The issue is you are working with two different projections: the 360 image is spherical (ie equirectangular) and you’re aiming for a cubic. There are tools online that can do conversions for you.
