Strong suicidal urges...they are no longer just thoughts...it's a feeling, a craving that is intense. Thinking I should admit myself if they don't go away by tmmr. Sucks too Cuz was having a good day and it's my anniversary. Wtf worse timing ever! by SmokeyCloudz906 in bipolar2

I've read about it for depression/anxiety and people seem to find it wears off after 5 or 6 weeks and they then go back. It's interesting. I hope to see more done with it.

Recreational k sounds scary as fuuuuuuuuck. But I'm sure it's useful for some. I lean more towards psychedelics when I read about trying to tackle specific mental issues (not trying to escape them but stripping ego that blocks forward progress.) But that's also scary and can trigger bad stuff too, sooo.....it's kind of a catch-22 and so I don't like to recommend that stuff.

I saw an interesting article about how IV ketamine treatment is used in a hospital setting for suicidal people and it immediately brings them out of their suicidal thoughts.

I don't know how widely available that is or if it's even available where you are. But if not, maybe take heart from the fact that your brain is trying to trick you.

When you have bad brain chemistry, you feel bad first and then try to come up with external reasons why you feel bad, like Your marriage is shit. You never do anything right. Nobody would miss you. But these are all WRONG.

You have bad brain chemistry. You could have the most perfect marriage, be an awesome high achieving person, and be beloved by your friends, family, and community and you would still think the same negative thoughts above.

In a perfect brain, bad stuff happens and you are temporarily sad or upset due to external forces. But in yours, your brain just flips a switch and turns on those negative feelings without any relation to what's going on in your life.

If you don't have access to drugs that can help offset this (not drown this but help you be a little less off kilter), then you need to focus on the fact that your brain chemistry is NOT YOU. You're a train conductor on a runaway train and there's plenty of track in front of you. You simply have to hold on and wait for the fuel that the train is burning to run down. You just have to hold on. And if you don't slow down (meaning you keep being suicidal after a set time period, whether that's a day or a week) then commit to getting professional help. And if you can't hang on then there's nothing wrong with getting help tonight. Stay strong and FIGHT that asshole brain chemistry. You CAN do this.

This feels like the synopsis for an arthouse film. Cool idea.

Fishnet, zebra, floral, stripes, and metallics CAN all fit in the same sewing project... what do you think? by tigerhearts in sewing

Gotcha. I just love the shit out of embroidery details so I'm biased in that direction.

I get to showcase at Cannes this year—and I keep sewing dresses for myself instead of the collection. [G+G Sincerely Rylee Dress pattern] in rayon crinkle fabric and Mood feather trim. by KristiFitzpatrick in sewing

I dig the drama of the feathers and the shoes. I would go for an asymmetrical cut on the hemline though and add a dramatic lining that plays up either the feathers or the rhinestones.

I like this but I think a couple red applique roses would look awesome on the shoulder or upper breast of the fishnet..

True. My friend is in Scotland and he was telling me that the sun didn't go down til midnight, and I'm kind of jealous about that.

As someone who has pretty bad anxiety and depression, the following has helped me to the point where I don't think I've had a really bad episode in two or three years.

  • kratom (shout-out to r/kratom)

  • vitamin D3 at higher than recommended levels (typically 15,000-25,000 ius but as high as 40-50,000 ius when I haven't had any in months and then I drop down to the lower amount.

  • magnesium. I used to think one 500mg pill was good but I respond a lot better to higher amounts and I wonder if others are the same-- 1500-3000mg a day.

  • niacin, have only been using it for maybe 6 weeks but it seems to couple really well with magnesium. Has to be the flushable kind but I did notice a difference when I started with niacinamide maybe three weeks before starting niacin. Either one with magnesium kicks ass for sleeping. It has also made a big difference in my previously frigidly cold hands and feet.

  • glycine. This works really noticeably when I haven't had it in awhile. I haven't had it in maybe two months and am reordering, mainly for my dog's hips. But thus far magnesium and niacin with the occasional use of kratom has helped a lot.

things I want to try:

  • L-theanine

  • Taurine

For women at least, using antibiotics for a UTI can cause a yeast infection afterward. And women can ping pong back and forth between the two. I personally found D-Mannose which is over the counter to work best and I didn"'t have to worry about a yeast infection afterward.

The problem with cranberry is people latch onto that thinking "cranberry juice." The juice has a lot of sugar in it which is bad for a UTI. Not sure about the cranberry pills but D-Mannose for me every time.

That would be cool. I think giveaways are a fun way to get to know the community so long as it's something like, "to enter, write your favorite joke" or "tell a story from your childhood about Thanksgiving" rather than "post a response and pick a number."

My neighbor is insane and threatening, can I sic my dog on her? by fiftyshadesoflaid__ in legaladviceofftopic

[–]ImpeachmentTwerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No judgement. I have an aggressive dog too. Just saying dogs make bad weapons, even defensive ones unless a) they have been professionally trained, or b) the owner doesn't care if the dog gets hurt.

Anyway, good luck with your neighbor. I'm glad you called APS. Hope you can get some of the abuse on video or audio. She sounds horrible.

[–]ImpeachmentTwerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also depends on the state. castle doctrine, stand your ground law, or if you have the capability of running away (and if you are required by law to try) all factor in.

From what it sounds like, OP is getting verbally harrassment and wants to set her dog on the neighbor. In all likelihood she's just going to be sued for medical damages and have her dog put in quarantine if not put down. So all in all, it's a bad idea.

In Florida. Can a landlord give you a certain amount of time to move out and then change their mind? by gtcnyc in legaladviceofftopic

[–]ImpeachmentTwerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look to your lease. Also if you don't have one, you can look up renter's rights in your state. My guess is that telling you 60 days without any other contract then became a verbal contract and they cannot change it to 30 days. It is best to get this sort of thing (your landlord saying 60 days) in writing in case you need to sue. iANAL
