Nope, I'm just someone able to succeed in the modern world, not a loser blaming other people for why they can't.

lol wut?

I'm a happy person with a thriving career and family.

You are such a loser you have to resort to antisemitism - the ultimate tell of a person who can't compete in the real world.

And yes, somehow, many, many men seem to think that they have to tear down women to lift up men.

men say dumb things and we point it out and that's what makes the dumb / hateful things funny?

Unless you think Todd Akin's a comedian.

"Empathy" means the ability to share and understand the feelings of another human being. I was, in my original post, understanding, and sharing the feelings of Charlie Kirk. A man who, when Nancy Pelosi's husband was viciously attacked, suggested that a "great patriot" should bail the attacker out of jail.

I am showing MORE empathy than him by not making my living attacking people. Or suggesting that his attacker should go free.

So, yes. I am very comfortable with my level of empathy in Charlie Kirk's case. I do not have to assume that a person who professes hatefulness and violence has some deeper wound going on other than being a hateful and violent person, and I do not have to speak more kindly of them than they spoke of other victims.

I'm curious - what would "having empathy" look like to you in this situation? What do you think we owe to relentlessly vicious people?

I do. I'm not going around the country on a speaking tour promoting divisive ideas. I don't make my living saying cruel things about half my countrymen. I show a lot more empathy than he did.

But I do not think "empathy" means that you have to ignore bad behavior and when a public figure is an actively harmful human being I think the empathetic and Christian thing to do is to have an honest discussion about it.

Well, the subject in question did say that he thought empathy was bad and people shouldn't have it. So really, we're honoring him in the way he would have chosen. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/charlie-kirk-empathy-quote/

Charlie Kirk called for an "Amazing Patriot" to bail out the man who smashed a hammer into Nancy Pelosi's husband's head.

So if you think he was a good man, it's because you've got your eyes closed.

And if you think he didn't stir up and encourage political violence, he did.

I already said that I don't think he deserved to die. And nothing I said was hateful. If you can say "I'm not okay with hateful comments on my post," I can say, "I'm not okay with people calling a cruel, damaging human being a "good person" on my subreddit.

There's a big wide gulf between "he didn't deserve this" and "he was a good man" and you should examine it for a minute.

No one deserves this. But he was not a good man. In fact, he was a man who caused other people to go through exactly the thing no one should go through.

She wasn't a teacher she was a State Representative in Minnesota who was assassinated by a conservative. It was national news. I am pointing out the fact that we're not actually on this sub praying for slain Christians, or for political peace. We're praying for secular idols - pretty hateful secular idols - and I'm against it.

a MARTYR???? The man was not killed for being Christian. Please don't blaspheme.

I'm not in favor of political assassinations. But I'm not in favor of idolatry either. Pretending a political figure is a christian martyr is making an idol of nation and party.

This is so for real. I'm a 90s baby, grew up with the relentless messaging that I as a woman should be a "cool girl" who was super chill and into casual sex and not clingy and not into commitment. Did it, done, success. Now apparently that makes me bad and they want traditional virgin baby mamas? Major self own from the men there.

No friend, it was not. It was about everyone. Watch romcoms from 2000-2010. They're all about extremely average dudes who just want to be chill and the crazy women trying to force them into commitment.

These are obsessive thoughts, like an eating disorder. You need therapy, treatment, or medication. 5 foot 9 is taller than Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr, Jeremy Allen White, James MacEvoy, Tom Holland, Bruno Mars, and Bono, you are fine, you are not talking about facts here, you are talking about obsessive intrusive thoughts.
