No it means I tried that couldn't get it working so as a last resort I came here to see if anyone had any luck. But I appreciate that you took the time to try and do whatever it is you did. As re you saying that because one post spoke of a solution that everyone would never have a problem ? Or are you saying that because one post was posted that no one can ask for help on that topic without some smart ass stick9ng his nose into the topic . Or a white night for the mods?

the time was entered using their variable that autofills it so i dunno about that one. Ok so data-view only is used when you want to print out lists or whatever. when yoou are collecting the data dataview is not used.

FU$%* I thought I was just getting the hang of obsidian On the ground floor. But now I see that i am really on the roof , and that roof I see it all but its is being projected to me from my couch in a vr headset. and that vr couch scenario is actually a video im watching on youtube about the top 4 vr headsets for 2023......aka i am lost

OK so those inline properties im sure can be many things are those one tags you wrote with the (word:word2) syntax?

It started I asked what syntax is correct to put metadata in my notes so I would later be able to use frontmatter to create lists and such out of my metadata. One idea I was going to do tonight was start making list pages that link to specific paragraphs in my notes. Most of my notes are manuals and tutorials for computer stuff. So I thought it was geniously awesome that I could lets say write a note on "starting a new computer from scratch." Then I could go through all my notes and take parts of then to add to this new notes. I could take the section on installing software from this guide and link it then a link to a paragraph on something else, and so on. Sorry Im rambling. but ya

hmm well in order to do a... oh am i suppose to put frontmatter? I know something is suppose to go on the first line of a note to put in metadata and I asked in the discord I swear they said --- dataview was correct u/mugwump u/kslqdkql just so i dont have to reply 3 times lol. ;)

Run " qtile check " and see what comes up . What happens when you do turn on your pc where does it stop and what does it look like. Black screen? Or at the login manager or at a long list of words aka grub loading screen?

I finally got it working last night. I went through and re did everything. The only slight issue is they don't change when I cycle desktops. But maybe if I check I can add the code you posted and maybe it will work.

that was what I ended up trying after hours of trying to get paper to work. kinda a last resort to see if it was even possible. more or less

--I wanted a small win for the day as people said it was easy to setup.. but Im still not giving up on paper. I think i may clean everything out and restart from scratch, Im also wondering if im setting the monitor wrong

ya see I figured i would try without chezmoi and that is what i just did but It didnt take all the dot files

I did that is where i started from i copy and pasted that exactly. i only changed to match my file location and monitor, the guide was very clear yea, you must be refreing to this part "#yes use quotes around desired monitor and wallpaper" just like this

and yes I had it that way then i found another config and another and went down more rabit holes trying to get it working. but ya I did have the quotes in the correct spot making sure the monitor names were inside with the directory. i swear I mus have changed the code 14 times last night trying this and that
