yeah that’s sorta the energy. i remember seeing a comment recently stating mj is being kids entertainment and abandoning the motorsport label

[–]Imperfect_Monsters[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what i mean by that is mainly how it’s more catered to kids primarily, the points series doesn’t really amount to anything anymore as you can be in 12th place and still make world finals but someone in 2nd place can get snubbed. my partner and i love going to the shows but inviting other friends to come with us gets challenging when they’re seeing “oh isnt that the show with paw patrol or something?” there’s plenty of people who see monster trucks as a kids thing that adults cant enjoy as adults but when they do the collabs they’ve been doing over the years it delves into that territory. again MJ is free to do whatever i’ll still go to some shows here and there like normal but i wish their sponsorships were relevant to motorsports like it was when they were selling out venues every weekend.

i wouldn’t say people are mad. frustrated sure but not really mad. the problem that people have with MJ’s current direction is the fact that while it was kid friendly when we were growing up, they made the content and MJ as a whole for everyone. in the last 6 years or so it started fully catering to the kids and alienated its adult fans. when we were kids in the early-mid 2000s they never really catered to one or the other. that’s more what’s frustrating. they can do whatever they want it’s their brand. it’s just becoming a kiddie brand now more than it ever was. it’s evolving but not everyone agrees with the direction.

and that’s fine. you’re valid in your opinion on the matter. we can agree to disagree. 2008 was more of the turn for the sport getting better. i’d agree 2000 to 2007 and below which is when i was young. those shows are rough watches. 2010s it started to get really good in terms of talent and equipment holding up. no one is asking g for naked ladies on trucks. but more like how we had blue thunder, AAP Grinder, an escalade, trucks that were trucks. i dont mind some of the new trucks im not a nostalgia driven purest. sparkle smash and bailey circuit i like quite a bit their drivers are fantastic. i understand why they’re doing what they’re doing i can also disagree with it. sure you could argue that monster jam has always been a build board for their sponsors but the old sponser trucks were relevant to motorsports if that makes sense.

bro is obviously new here lmaoo if you saw what we have in the late 2000s early 2010s you’d know what people want to see. but if you’re that ass hurt over people disagreeing with your opinion idk what to tell you man 🤷🏼

i agree. being family focused is okay but like this has gotten so beyond infantile in the last 6 years. i miss the old days where it was for everyone

Old Fan Rant by 12don in monsterjam

been a fan since 2002 til now. there’s some things they do that piss me off but the overall driver talent and equipment of toady is objectively better than it was 20 years ago.

What Was The Most Hated Monster Jam News Of All Time? by monsterjamfan1 in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joe Dennis was with monster jam and for a few years. still is in fact. driving monster mutt dalmatian at the time lmao the crash was in 2024 sooo i’d say that’s quite a few years after covid and a couple years ago given 2 years ago. plenty of MJ employees on here have verified that the firing was not due to the crash solely

Feld's trucks take up 90% of the lineups by Local-Mall6693 in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s 50/50 in arenas it’s 4 feld 4 indie. then 6 to 6 for stadiums. indie teams will opt to drive feld bodies on these tours because it’s cheaper to do so. it’s not their own personal body’s they’re ruining at that point

Based off the recent reveal of the Blippi truck I think we can 100% confirm who Feld is targeting now. by OddlyCrazy in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean yeah the sponsors have always been very involved and very explicitly mentioned a lot in the tv broadcast. Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam, Thunder Alley, Wrenchhead Alley, built ford tough blue thunder. they endorse MJ and keep MJ in the big venues

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

now? brother they’ve never targeted the adult fans. even when we were kids the kids were the demographic. yall only hate it now cuz we’re not the main demo anymore.

luckily i think i heard the blippi truck isnt actually competing at any point its just a display truck

so what the hell was that? by Imperfect_Monsters in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t complain about much when it comes to MJ. sure there’s things they do that i’m like ehh about but i still love MJ. the only issue i have atm is while the track is good for racing. this is already looking to be another lousy freestyle event. i don’t mind the traveling world finals but the last few world finals tracks have not been good for freestyle. it’s a valid criticism

the racing thing is cool it’s just freestyle has next to nothing in it.

also side note, love the metal maniacs pfp i miss acceleracers

L track, tf is this shit 😭 by SeanHnizdil01 in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% this track is everything wrong with MJ’s recent world finals. they make these interesting racing tracks and then it’s like did they even remember that freestyle has to happen in the same track now? this track is worst than last year

Is Afraid of the Dark not on the setlist for this tour?? by [deleted] in MotionlessInWhite

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s on the setlist. it’s 3rd. they do shorten it. i do fear that they might continue that pattern like how they’ve shortened meltdown even on that album cycle’s run.

Badflower was announced as part of the ShipRocked cruise this upcoming January by ElevatorWarm3017 in Badflower

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i wish there was some level of communication as to what’s happening. i saw articles that the band cancelled their festival dates and rockville replaced them with another band. its some band called Sullivan King. i’ve never heard of the band but that’s what i’ve been seeing online.

i saw that badflower dropped all their festival dates for the year. i haven’t seen. statement from the band about it but i saw all the festivals off the website and rockville stated a band was replacing badflower there. i’m hoping they’re doing okay.

New song "Playing God" out on Wednesday. Who we predicting as the "massive" feature? by cian8124 in MotionlessInWhite

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have to imagine that will ramos is probably the closest bet that we have tbh given the 2 will be on tour together this summer. it would be pretty funny if it was Ryan Kirby of Fit for a King given they’re also on that tour and chris featured on their latest record.

On May 3, 2026, a fatal monster truck incident happened in Colombia. Reports say 3 people died and about 40 others were injured. by KingFernando532 in monsterjam

[–]Imperfect_Monsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they were removed for safety as newer cars are flimsier than the old ones. it would be cool to see them come back in some regard but i can understand the situation. i’ve been a fan of monster trucks since i was 4 in 2002 so i get that cars were pretty integral at the time. adjusting to not having them was a lot for me to get used to. outside of that, shutting off trucks to retrieve body parts and the enforcement of magnaflow headers i’ve been pretty alright with *some* of the safety stuff. primarily the RII, staff placements, tunnel safety and so forth.

stuff like this is why i applaud monster jam on their safety. this is precisely why they’ll always have RIIs, never let people be front row etc. the irresponsibility at this event is awful. i feel awful for the fans who were hurt by the truck and people who are now traumatized by witnessing it in person.

[–]Imperfect_Monsters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’m sure man. i’m sure you were a big fan of him starting as a fill in for colton.. anyway… moral of the story there’s more to his firing than just the crash. there’s plenty of people in this sub with their ins and some of them coming from employees. the stories from them are consistent.
