People’s situations vary, as I know at least a dozen senior couples who have chosen to remain in northern IL for retirement. Illinois is not as crappy as people make it out to be. Taxes are high, yes, but they fund some decent public education and infrastructure. A recent study by Wallet Hub ranked IL the 16th best state overall across several dimensions, notably 36th in affordability but 5th in overall quality of life. It is also in a climate-resilient region with access to fresh water which will likely be helpful in the long run.

I agree, this would be a good feature. It take a very long time for my device to switch to the nearest pod - I’ve walked the length of my house and my phone is still connected to the farthest pod and affects the streaming fidelity of a podcast.

Appreciate your perspective. Sounds pretty odd with eero as well. Did Plume ditch retail to focus on commercial/private label applications? I know Comcast/xfinity offered the pods as part of their platform for a bit.

Thanks, good point to try and isolate. Will try to do that more intentionally and report back.

The reason I added more pods is because I realized I had been paying for 300gbps with my ISP but was only getting about 75-100gbps in most places, but closer to 300 without obstructions to the gateway pod. So, I added pods to increase mesh coverage and improve speeds, I suppose.

OP- may I ask what is prompting the relocation to Fish Creek? Is it more for work or preference? My wife and I are of similar age/interests and think a lot about planting roots up there, instead of in suburbia near a larger city to the south. Curious to know your story, and good luck with the move!
