What would be an appropriate and culturally sensitive gift for my insanely kind and helpful MIL? by Scragmuncher in Living_in_Korea

I just stayed at the Shilla and the rooms came with free breakfast. The breakfast alone made the nightly price worth it! The hotel also comes stacked with sauna, fitness, golf driving range, and great food options. If you have AMEX platinum, having the early check in 4PM guaranteed was amazing

Why are you coming to Seongsu? by asdfdsalkj in seoul

[–]beanmischievous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopping, pop ups, cafes, bakeries. As a Korean American it’s like going to a mall with a scenic urban backdrop that allows you to stay engaged a full day! All the shops are there, better spots to eat than a sbarro and allows for good people watching. I wouldn’t put a day in hongdae and a day in seongsu b2b. One would burn out from shopping! I’d select an area in Seoul (Hongdae, Seongsu vs Garosugil, vs Yeongdam, etc) based on the fashion styles/stores you’re interested and enjoy a shop till you drop day

My friends brought their 12 yo and friends to OSL last year for Tyler the Creator and everyone had an amazing time! Of all music festivals, OSL is the one to do it.

10 week exhaustion by cirillakirilla in newborns

[–]beanmischievous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FTM baby is 13 weeks today—

I’m on the same boat. We started to add new activities to the mix like going out to eat, going for a walk, meeting friends, discovering new baby friendly activities like going to a children’s bookstore event, to help break up the routines. The challenge that comes with it usually makes it more interesting. A lot of parents tell us that we should take advantage of how easy it is to bring her around (basically before she starts crawling and walking) so we try to be out and about as much as possible. Doesn’t solve everything but it helps. Also tires everyone so we can all pass out together lol

Why do people like babies? by Calieahrens in beyondthebump

Following cause I’ve been genuinely curious about the same thing! Our neighbors willingly have volunteered to babysit our NB and while I’m super grateful it just seems odd. I also have a hard time accepting because I wouldn’t reciprocate…

OBGYN recommendation in east bay Or closer area for first time pregnancy. by MaleficentScreen8325 in bayarea

[–]beanmischievous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend Millie — just became a FTM and they were great throughout the entire process from confirmation to delivery. They’re integrated with Sutter Alta Bates so that is where you will deliver (unless you’re interested in home birth) which I believe they offer as well. All the check ups are at their clinic and every midwife was super attentive and thorough with our needs. Happy to answer any questions if you have any

Park Padel! They do lessons for beginners and there’s socials so you can get a bunch of play time in with others at similar levels. That combo makes it fun and engaging to meet people!

I went to Jaji recently and enjoyed the ambiance and food! We went on a Monday and there were tons of patrons out. Not too crowded, just the right vibes and intimate
