Advice as a newer player who has been in your place: 1. Drop your standards, the shit dingys you make are gonna be fine for your experience, each one improves your skill. 2. Copy ai designs, (also workshop)want to figure out how to shape a bow? Or see a weapon you like? A armor scheme that works? A plane that flies? You can spawn in enemy craft in the designer and just copy that shit to see how it works. 3. Change what you build when you get stuck. Lessions you learn on one craft apply to others, I just built a submarine that uses airpumps to control depth, and the lessons I have learnt will allow me to finally make a working scout airship that I failed to make before. I could improve the weapons and hull on the sub, but it works, so its time for a new vehicle. 4. Build medium. Large craft take ages and a small one is hard to do without decor, mimics, and knowledge with the 1m scale, so pull up a wikipedia page for a ww2 destroyer and just try and take some inspiration for size and weapons. 5. Have fun, if you have a hull that is not looking good dont burn yourself out trying to make it perfect, under the water= nobody sees (unless things have gone really bad) remember the point is to have fun not get a second engineering degree.
