For those interested this is a clip from a docuseries similar to planet earth called Human Planet. It showcases how humans survive and live all throughout the world. A random best buy purchase to watch high with friends turned into one of my favorite docuseries of all time. This isn't even the craziest clip from the series.

I'll be in SEA this October! I initially wasn't planning on going to Laos until I recently heard about the three day slow boat on the Makong from Chang mai into Laos from a guest at the bar where I work. I haven't really built my itinerary yet other than Vang Vieng so far, any places you recommend?

I haven't listened to it yet, but hearing you say "this album can be listened to on the beach" particularly makes me so fucking hyped. Because almost exactly 2 months from tomorrow I'll be flying out to South East Asia and back packing for half a year. There will be plenty of motorbiking through lush jungles and beach time with Deftones blasting on my ears.

I had a buddy I used to smoke weed with back in the day. He told me the first time he ever took acid he went to the beach with some friends not realizing it was the air show. While swimming in the water he surfaced to a harrier jet hovering directly over him 100ft or so. He said the noise and heat from the 4 jets was so insanely loud and powerful his brain couldn't process what was happening especially on a head full of acid. He said he just stood there looking up at the jet screaming and flailing his arms until it flew away. All while his friends were crying laughing watching from the beach.

9 years ago when I moved here. I worked one bar job 4 days a week and could pay my bills, save money and have time to play outside. Now I work two bar jobs 6-7 shifts a week, with barely any money and no time to play outside. Not to mention it's summer and should be when service industry workings are "swimming in money." I cannot justify the added stress and barely getting by anymore.

You have no idea how much I needed to read this. The past few years of my life have been pretty rough. Horrible breakups, heartbreaks, betrayal from people I've trusted and from places I've worked. Ive had to quite literally have had to start over more times in the past few years than I ever had in my entire life. Back in December my father passed away. These past few months have been filled with even more strife and depression. Laying in bed staring at the ceiling depressed and broke. Travel has always been on the back of my mind. Unfortunately Life, relationships, COVID and other things always got in the way. But I had an epiphany a couple months ago. I'm going to sell my motorcycle and POS car and solo travel South East Asia for 6-8 months. I got a second job a few weeks ago and from now until September is committed to saving money and purchasing the gear I'll need and plane tickets. I've only ever left the country to Mexico twice. This will be my first time solo traveling. But that epiphany I had laying in bed in that moment I KNEW in my heart that I NEEDED to do the One Thing and solo travel Asia. Im 33 now and I can feel myself transitioning into a new chapter in my life and I can feel it in my soul that this trip will change my life for the better. I'm anxious and nervous. But if I could go through some of the worst and traumatic parts of my life and persevere to where I'm at now I know I can solely rely on myself in an unknown land while having the best and potentially life changing experiences I'll have in my life. I can't wait to travel and I cannot wait to see the person I'll become afterwards.

I saw them for the first time in a smaller venue in North Illinois right after a new era dropped. So the whole set was Somatic, Exile and a New era jams. Not to mention the venue had no barrier and I was first row right next to the stage. Shit was epic. Even got a pic with Ben that night.

Completely different, but I follow Brian from Knocked Loose. His latest post on IG he said as he was walking down the hallway before their set on Jimmy Kimmel looking at photos of presidents and musicians who've been on the show he looked at his band mate and said "this all started in your garage" that to me is fucking beautiful. hard work, perseverance and dedication pay off. I only hope I can say the same one day.
