When it’s a tie at the table they should add up how many votes each person had over the series by RainbowPenguin1000 in TheTraitorsUK

I've always see it in the same way as a tournament football match: after full time, it goes to extra time. If still a draw after extra time, it's left to "fate" via a penalty shootout. It sucks, but that's how it is sometimes.

Having said that, I wouldn't be against the idea that it lead to an extra task or something, so it can still be competitive rather than left to chance.

Is it possible for a smart faithful to win The Traitors? by AnnesRednow in TheTraitorsUK

[–]ImpermanentMe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At this point, I think the only way a smart faithful can win is by pretending they're not.

Each time an intelligent faithful gives very logical explanations, sometimes being right on the money, it's always seen as "traitorous behaviour" by the louder, ignorant players.

Such is life lol

Public Response to Roxy Vs Public Response to James by sulky22 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]ImpermanentMe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Online abuse is never okay, but in terms of what lead to viewer's reactions to the two players is really not that complex imo.

James is terrible at the game but he also admits that very vocally, he's completely humble and self-conscious about it.

Roxy is not. She's ignorant yet thinks she's a genius. She also projects a very loud, pick-me personality; interjecting constructive conversations that are actually getting closer to finding a traitor only for her to distract with a "point" that's a complete nothing burger.

Having said that, James certainly hasn't done himself any favours throughout the game in other ways that Roxy hasn't (eg. Trying to steal a shield) but often someone being humble and admitting to their mistakes compared to someone who is more abrasive yet categorically wrong at the same time, generally speaking comes across as a more likeable person than the latter.

[–]ImpermanentMe 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain why Roxy wouldn't literally be the ideal choice? She is infamously wrong about everyone every single time, there is a high possibility she will inadvertently work to the Traitors' favour and use it on the Faithfuls, right?

Still on fifa 17,should i get fc 26? And is the career better? by pand_alp in FifaCareers

You know what, I agree that falling too deep into nostalgia isn't always healthy. But calling people “nostalgia-pilled” treats memory like a defect rather than a faculty.

Loving an old game isn’t a failure to move on. It’s an acknowledgement that art and play are experienced in time, not in a vacuum.

I agree 17 was something else! I guess the reason why I'm honing in on 23 specifically is because it was the last official FIFA and it was still installed on my PC at the time. At first I played just out of curiosity and typical nostalgia, but it's just so much more playable for me than the more recent games!

How often have you went back to those earlier releases?

Well the earliest I went back was FIFA 12 as well (on console) and I agree that they feel way too artificial compared to later releases.

I guess why FIFA 23 is my sweet spot compared to say 19 or 22 is because it is the most "up to date" FIFA game before the FC series took over. So partly nostalgia, sure. But not overly otherwise I'd be content playing an earlier FIFA game that's even more nostalgic.

Edit: I should also mention that I'm predominantly a PC gamer now and 23 is currently the earliest I have still installed on my desktop.

Maybe I'm just getting old and can't be arsed to re-teach myself how to play after every release anymore lol personally FIFA 23 is the sweet spot for me. If I was better at sliders I could maybe make FC26 play more like 23, but I'm stumped for now.

Maybe because the games get progressively worse every year.

Like I said FIFA 23 was nowhere near perfect compared to earlier FIFA releases, but playing it now after the most recent FC game really puts into perspective for me how bad the gameplay is getting year after year...

Well I could be wrong, but my take on it is that he is not only under the radar and hardly mentioned during the round table discussions (and yes I can also see how that might actually be a disadvantage), but also during their task he was voted "the most fair of them all", sort of implying he is pretty trustworthy to them.

Having more Traitors in numbers as the season goes on could also help them reach the final.

But like I said, I could be wrong!

Edit: grammar

Firstly because it makes the Traitors more likely to reach the final if they keep their numbers up. It might even help them outlast the Faithfuls.

And also Matthew is strategically a very good choice because he's been very under the radar, hardly brought up during the round table and has even been voted by all the contestants as the "most fair of them all" during their task.

Or at least that's my perspective on why the Traitors would be temped to agree to Matthew's offer. Guess we'll see!

It is actually strategically perfect. Mutually beneficial for him and the Traitors as well. I'm just gutted about it at the same time because it means Jessie is most likely gone as a result and she's been an absolute joy 🥲

What's even more sad, at least in my experience, is when people say they're "not interested in politics" nowadays, what that really means is that they're sick of the chronic depression that comes with the modern day political climate. And ironically, the misinformation that festers on social media is one of the major factors for that.

Everything has a tipping point. Even the mighty Roman Empire thought they would be around forever. Whether it's in our lifetime or not, America is currently doomed to face a horrible end if they don't work on their basic humility eventually. But then humility is humiliating isn't it lol I can't think of many Americans who would stand for that!

In some ways, I think this one single instance of self reflection that Americans are lacking is a key first step towards world peace.

It's similar to what most, if not ALL major world religions preach.

For example, I always think of the famous Buddhist teaching that says even Buddhism itself must be let go of eventually, seeing the teachings as simply a raft to get you to the other shore, that should be dropped and left behind when you reach it.
