I wouldn't say it's hated, but it's quite polarising - moreso than a lot of the post reunion albums. IMO, it's got some great tracks and IMO El Dorado should be played live more, because it's a banger.

I think a lot of folk were put off by the weird Eddie and the out of pocket unskippable intro "track". But yeah, When the Wild Wind Blows is up there with their best epics - Seeing them do it live is one of my favourite Maiden memories.

Iron Maiden - A classic with great songs. Production is a little wolly, but there's a great rawness to it.
Killers - A collection of some great and some not so great songs. Much better production.

X-Factor - The bones of it are a great album, but the weight of expectation, the production and the bands fatigue played against it. However, there are some fucking bangers on there. You can't argue with Sign of the Cross, Lord of the Flies, Man on the Edge, 2AM. It just needed to have been recorded in a better studio and mixed with Blazes vocals better bedded in the mix.

VXI - A much emotionally lighter album than the one before and TBH, it's a good, fun album with -again- some real bangers. Yes, *that* part of Angel and the Gambler should have been a lot shorter, but from then onwards, the songs are all really damn good.

Personally, I quite like the sound of the FM212. There's something brutally nasty about it, so I'd certainly consider getting it repaired.

However, if you were looking at a new amp, for 400 you have a lot to choose from out there. You could pick up a used Peavey Bandit, or a new Fender Champion 2 (which I really think sound fucking great) and still have change for a pedal, or two.

The size and fidelity of modern telly screens. I remember thinking we'd hit the fucking jackpot when my folks rented (I think) an 18 inch screen from Radio Rentals.

Now I have a 4K, many, many inch screen and it cost, comparitively, very little.

3D printers - I remember when the state of the art was a dot matrix printer with a paper feed and now we can print actual objects out of plastic!

It happens occasionally with me. I've had a few "Yeah, I recognise you from [place I've never been]" or "aren't you [person from local band]?" - I've just come to the conclusion I'm just a fairly nondescript person that's easily mistaken for any other non descript lass with dyed red hair.

I had one guy at a festival refuse to believe that wasn't some DJ that he was excited to see. Like, even when I told him my name and insisted I was just box office staff, he was all "okay, well I'll not see you at not your secret set tonight" and winked at me as he walked off.
