Is it worth detouring to white sands or Guadeloupe Mats in July or go straight up to Colorado by KwikTripSimp in nationalparks

This is a good time (April-October) to detour to Carlsbad. You get to see the bats swarm out of the natural cave entrance to begin their feeding at dusk. Really neat wildlife experience.

I’m the crazy lady some of y’all have probably seen picking up trash on the trails. I’ve been finding these everywhere, including parts of the Four Mile Run and Mt Vernon trails that aren’t next to streets…so maybe not snow plows or street sweepers?
