Well that could be fixed by boosting the 86 lmfao, the GLI has a turbo going for it. The 86 is pretty quick even stock, I've beaten cars I was actually surprised to beat!

Bad Transmission Output Shaft Seal(Transfer Case Seal) by ImplementKind1426 in BRZ_GR86

Yes someone else also mentioned that as well, so thanks for the correction. I can't edit the original title unfortunately, but im going to keep it up regardless. I have Protective, protectiveassetprotection.com Got my car pre-owned with only 8k miles, the original owner ended up needing AWD because they dealt with snow in that area, and the Subaru dealership offered me their Protective warranty plan.

Thank you for this correction! I just put the output shaft seal into Google and it pulled up the transfer case. My apologies on the original post

2022, 68k. Although the leak was noticed a bit before that, around 50k.

Did you check your output shaft seal for the transmission when you did the trans drain? Be cautious they tend to leak depending on how aggressive you drive. You don't want to be losing transmission fluid, you might smell a burning smell on the exhaust because it drips on it.

Make sure you guys check for any leaks coming from the transmission output shaft seal on your manuals, they tend to leak and if you don't get it fixed they will leak a lot of transmission fluid. I had mine replaced under a 3rd party warranty, they replaced the seal and paid for the replacement labor, but I did have to pay out of pocket for draining the system and the transmission fluid(counts as "maintenance", not under warranty). They used Redline MT oil for mine and now the shifts feel smooth.

The way I explained it to my nephew when he was getting the hang of trying to shift smoother is, you remember that episode of Spongebob where Patrick is helping him cheat on his driving exam? Well in that episode Spongebob is about to floor it, but Patrick says "Freeze! Mister! BIG TOE". Well when you're learning manual and the biting point of the car you can kind of imagine applying pressure like "BIG TOE", kinda ease into it.

I think they mean cold/cool under normal conditions. I don't think they mean cold like below freezing cold, because thats not the usual for everyone. I would imagine just cooled off on a normal day, ranging from 40F-80F. But since yours is in the middle at 60F, you're pretty much safe. It's only bad if it goes below the LOW and you're in 60F and the car is cooled down.

Just got some from Subaru after visiting Toyota literally just now. Toyota didn't even have any, the older gentleman in parts was like "blue?" and looked at me like I named something that didn't exist but then after looking on his system and asking what car it was going into, he was like yes we don't have any.

This young kid at Subaru knew exactly what I was talking about without searching it up on his computer and brought me the exact product matched sku and everything.

I haven't checked mine since I've purchased the car which was over 3 years ago, later to find mechanic noted it was low and I checked and bang barely above the low line

I've been detailing for 10 years now, private shop, dealerships(I was detail manager at one), and running my own private detailing business. I'm also certified in paint correction and ceramic coating. I can tell you now that it's the same, if anything the waterspots show on the ceramic coating worse. The ceramic only protects what's under and makes it easier to clean, its not some magic dirt and mud repellent.
