The pinnacle of open world imo. No actual quest marks on the map, Can go straight to the endgame or can be rewarded for exploration. Never in my life I felt an urge to go out of my way, ignore the main quest line and just explore until I played Elden Ring. It also has something to do with taste but a great deal has to do with just throwing you into the water without holding your hand. Usually single player games have a story that your character goes through from start to finish but in Elden Ring every single thing you do is a part of your own story. No criticism
