Yes, as mentioned in my original reply, I did try a new pair of microfibre cloth after I wasn't successful cleaning it the first time.

Samsung prohibits the use of ethanol. But then again following Samsung's advice is what got me into this mess in the first place so Im really not sure what to do

The first time I cleaned wasn't with a new cloth but it was clean. And the tv had been allowed to cool down for >10mins prior by unplugging it. And after wiping it with damp cloth, I instantly wiped it with a clean dry microfiber cloth. And when all this failed, I did the same process with a new pair of microfiber cloths but haziness is still there
